  1. I'm going to try that next. It would be crazy if it actually worked, I've reinstalled and uninstalled at least 7 or 8 times by now. I even talked to Sony again since last post and (Canadian) tech support didn't even know that 3.1 existed. They even denied that it existed until I led them to the link. They then admitted ignorance and said eventually they will probably be briefed on the software but as for why it doesn't work they have no idea. Jeff.
  2. Yea, It's frustrating all right. I've been hung up on. I'm in Canada so the american (online) tech support people and the phone (canadian) tech support people keep passing the buck to the other one. I'll definitely keep you posted if I find anything. Otherwise, I'm hoping someone around here can help us out! Jeff.
  3. I've had about 6 calls to Sony about this, Chatted online with them and gone back and forth and gotten nowhere, So I'm hoping you guys (The real pros) can help me out. Sony MZ-NHF800 HI-MD Windows XP Home SP2 I can install Sonicstage 2.1 (original from the CD) and upgrade using the link off Esupport.sony.com to 2.3 and everything is fine. But whenever I upgrade to anything higher 3.0/3.1, it stops recognizing my Hi-MD unit. When I click on the Transfer button at the top it shows ATRAC/MP3 CD and no Hi-MD when the unit is connected. Sony has said that I need to reinstall and go directly to 3.1 (canadian Version) without upgrading to 2.3 first, I've tried everything and nothing works. Chat support has now dished me off to Phone support who closes at 5:00. Has anyone else run into this problem? I get no errors, everything else works great. I would be happy with 2.3, but there are features in 3 that I want to take advantage of. I hope someone else has experienced this previously and has an answer because It's really frustrating. I've had this unit for a week and not been able to use it at all, save for the one time that I transfered a few files using 2.1 Thanks for your help. Jeff.
  4. I bought a HI-MD MZ-NHF800 and it was an open box item. It was missing the remote (unknown to the store) so I asked for it, they gave me a remote that is extremely similar. But it is for the MZ-NF520D (Not HI-MD, model #RM-MC34LT) It seems to have all the same functionality. My only concern is that I am missing something important between the RM-MC39LT and the RM-MC34LT. Both are Radio tuners, outside of that, there doesn't seem to be anything different. Does anyone know the specific differences? If there is a difference, I'll force them to replace it, or return it for a different model. Anyone know?
  5. Actually, I found one guys...Just yesterday on Ebay, someone is selling 100 of them on Ebay, for 5.00 a pop, so if you need one, Get over there and do a search for "micro jack". I'd give you the link, but I'm on a really slow computer and I don't have the page in front me. I'll post it here later today. Jeff.
  6. If that will change my connection from Microplug to headphone that's exactly what I'm looking for! How much do you want for it? Jeff.
  7. hi, This is a first post, I have come into possession of a few old relic MD players, and will soon be getting one to replace them all. Since I do interviews the MD format is perfect, I know you've all heard this before. Anyway, What I'm looking for is either 1 mint/new pair of the headphones that plug into these older unit (with the tiny oddball proprietary jack) remote controllers or apparantly there is an adaptor that was on the market years ago that goes from this tiny plug to a normal mini-headphone jack. Does this make sense to anyone? Jeff.
