mikeuk
hii've had an NH900 since early september, and since then i've had continuous Sonic Stage problems. i had a Net MD for a few years before this and experienced problems with OpenMG and was convinced that SonicStage would be stable and much much better.... how naive of me.the major probem i had to begin with was that (as listed by someone else on here i think) every time i opened sonic stage or simple burner and connected my recorder it'd crash and close the program. this was kind of temperamental and occasionally worked. however, the real problems started a month ago. i'm a student, and when i returned home for christmas with my computer, all of a sudden neither Sonic Stage nor Simple Burner would recognise my recorder. the computer recognised it fine, it would show up as an additional hard drive and i'd get the usual deluge of "new hardware detetcted" ... "new usb device detected" ... "Sony Hi-MD detected" everytime i plugged it in, but the software just wouldn't recognise it. just a simple driver problem i first though, i'll try reinstalling it, but i hadn't brought the cd home with me, so i was stuck for a month. a (completely separate topic altogether, but during this time my Hi-MD somehow corrupted itself whilst being used to transfer data files from computer to computer and i had to reformat it, losing about 14 albums worth of music!) so i eventually get hold of my software, reinstall it, still nothing. so i get online, look for help, end up here and find the Sonic Stage 2.2 update (which i couldn't see a trace of on the Sony site! nor an email address, nice that the only way you can get in touch with them is by phone or post!), downloaded it and it's all fixed. so again, thanks!i like the idea of this forum you've got here, as much an appreciation of MD as it is a community or technical support. myself and friends who have also own MD players for the past 4 years or so have always wondered why MD didn't catch on in quite the way we know it should. nice to know there's more of us!Mike, UK
