Hi well just to start off I really need help with my laptop. I downloaded a program on my laptop which I suspect contained a virus. But when It had finished downloading my computer froze and wouldnt respond at all so I decided to manually restart it by pressing down on the power button. But when I tried to turn it on not much happened and every time I turn it on this is what basically happens:
1)vaio logo displays
2)windows error recovery page pops up
3) and then no matter what selection you make the same thing happens: THE SCREEN JUST STAYS BLACK
Nothing further happens.
When I try to put it on safe mode(f8) nothing happens either no matter what selection I make the same thing happens the screen just stays black. What can I do? I was told that the only thing I could do was restore it and I am willing to do that. But is it true? Is that my last resort? Pls help I'm clearly not a computer wiz

Hi if you have your data backed up the best think to do is a restore, to avoid any future problems.
