I have a sony mz-n505 type r netmd recorder.

when using sonicstage to transfer new music to the minidisc this music has no sound and eject and reinserting  the disc shows as blank.

editing the track data or naming the discs also cause the above blank disc problem

also using the recording function on the player also erases the discs after ejecting and reinserting

on my laptop i have sonic stage 4.3 and the 64 bit drivers on windows 10

any help is appreciated

Busted overwrite head. Standard problem. Have to fix it or throw the machine away.

Ok, What does "fix it" entail.

it works fine as a playback machine and I'm ok with only using as a playback only machine

all it takes is for someone to hit the track mark button and the disk is blank.

Usually the ribbon cable cracks. Unless you have extremely good eyesight and an extremely steady hand with a soldering iron, I think this project is not for you.

Better to buy something else.

And the something else will be cheap : around 20-30$ for a  similar (same generation) unit.
