Hey all,

I just got a Sony MZ-S1, and the unit does not seem to recognize silence to make a track mark during analog recording. And I'm talking about long pauses--sometimes over 5 seconds.
I see posts about the opposite to this problem, but has anyone ever experienced this??

thanks for any info!

what are you recording from...

because if its from winamp.. try a program called WinCUE.. www.wincue.org

it will create pauses in ur playlist and then create new tracks...

maybe find other users of the s1 and see if they are having the same problem?

fyi, I'm recording from a stereo.
I don't know if this is a general MD problem or just model specific...

No, you need 2s SILENCE. I think the problem is likely to be loud static or something from the stereo (hissing). I had this problem with my R37 and a noisy soundcards analogue out.
