Hello Inquisitor,
Thank you for getting back to me so swiftly - I'm sorry I wasn't here to see your reply.
Yes, thought I was in heaven again, listening to the quality of sound on my minidiscs after spending too long in MP3 wilderness!
Please understand that I have a smattering of computer protocol - like most I keep on trying until a miracle occurs.
To answer your questions:- Yes, NetMD, (Had to buy the cradle on e-bay because I'd lost mine). Downloaded the 'Ultimate' version from here. Have an MZ-N1 for transfer and an MZ-R70 to listen to. When everything went tits up, I uninstalled everything using Revo and then began the laborious task of trying to download once more. I have trawled the net and found several Sonic Stage 4:3 programmes and tried them all, one by one. All of these gave me an error before installation could take place and 'terminated' abruptly. The ultimate on this site, however, took me through the (5?) processes of installation, but halted on the OpenMG installation.
I'm uncertain if I'm on 'automatic updates', so it's probable that I'm not.
First thing I attempted was a system restore, but it didn't go back far enough, I'm afraid.
Because I've seen so many 'versions' of SS on the net, is there one that you would recommend for my configuration? And... do I install the driver for my mediaplayer first (NETMD 760), or first try to mount the SS? As I said, when I install the Ultimate edition all looks fine and dandy in the program list, but click on it and I'm advised to restart. When I restart, it's gone. Doh!
