Oh well, her lose. I'll just stick to my 'brick like Zen, then.

Hi, i just bought an 818 Walkman for my wife, but i cannot find a way to make "on the fly playlists", or an option of "add to Selected". My Creative Zen has this option and i'm sure Sony wouldn't have left out such an important feature. She likes to create a playlist before she drives, but i have told her i think she will have to just do them via the computer, is this correct? Cheers in advance Nuld

I have been using Sonicstage 3.3 and 3.4 to up/download music to my a3000, but tonight when i tried it came up with the following error; Quote 'The connected ATRAC Audio Device cannot be used with the currently installedSonicstage. To use with the currently installed SonicStage, you must delete all tracks in the ATRAC Audio Device or initialize the hard disk of the ATRAC Audio Device. (Error Code: 000066a3)' Unquote This is a disaster, my a3000 was running amazingly well using Sonicstage, now i will have to go back to Connect AAAAARRRRRRGGGHHHHHHH

Jof, Yes my friend, it works like a dream. Just remember to clear your library in connect, if u don't, any updates you did in SS3.4 (ID3 tagging etc) will revert back to what Connect has got. Clear your library, and make sure you stop Connect looking at any folders (in options/preferences). I did this yesterday, and after updating my player through SS3.4, I just shut it down(SS) then logged it back into Connect and all updating (Top100 etc) was carried out. Works about 100 times faster using this method, than struggling with Connect. Hope this helps. Nuld

Simon, you can always do what i do and that is use sonicstage 3.4 to upload/delete/update track info etc onto the a3000, but then log into Connect to get all the updated features, apart from Artist Link.(Who needs Artist Link anyway, if you put your tracks into detailed genre's, it's almost the same). If you do not add any tracks to the library in Connect, it runs very fast. All it will see are the tracks on your nw-a3000 when attached to the PC. It will then update the players Top 100 etc without any hassle, by reading the info off the player.

On the nwa series of walkmans, is it possible to select the next song to play, (say from a different artist) while the current song is still playing? At the moment i have to wait until the current song nears the end and then choose another song (because a; 15 sec screensaver kicks in, b; there is no option to choose a different song to 'play next' etc). This would be a really handy feature (unless of course its already there.) I tend to flick through artists all the time and this would help. Cheers in advance Nuld

And i never said that you did say an iPlod was good, but you did say it was better than a walkman and i beg to differ. If its too 'tinny' for you, use the perfectly good Custom EQ setting. With good buds, no way tinny. More than enough bass.

I have ordered some ep-630's from amazon and should be here on Monday/Tuesday, will let you know asap

All correct, it can connect you to your PC, but you have to use the original usb cable that came with your nwa-3000, u can charge up your walkman with it, with the supplied usb cable (that comes with the cradle). this needs to be connected to the power supply and lead that came with your walkman and finally yes it does have an aux out. I bought one and the only use i have out of it, is I can leave the usb lead (from the walkman) in my PC and not have to take it out of the PC if i want to charge it at work+ i can then connect to some remote speakers aswell.

Hi, My nwa3000 has just started the dreaded creaking and a gap appearing around the side, (amazon sending a replacement, no questions asked and over 30 days old), but i was wondering whether buying a silicon case or the new hard plastic cover (when released) would actually close up the gap and keep it closed? Has anyone got a silicon case? and if so does it completly surround the unit tight enough to hold it together and stop the creaking?

Hawkspy, I am finding it hard to take your review seriously mainly because you say the EQ doesn't seem to make a lot of difference. Well on my a3000 tweaking the EQ brings the sound even more so to life, compared to an iPlod which seems to have a muffle placed over its output. I have just bought a pair of Creative EP-630 buds and it's like having a subwoofer injected into my ears! Plenty of bass for me. Admittedly I have never heard an iAudio, but NW-A3000 along way behind an iPoo? Really? My ears tell me something very different.
