  1. Hi guys,

I just got back from my Japan trip and I've acquired a rare Pansonic SJ-MJ500 MiniDisc Player.

Everything is in like new condition with all accessories, pouch, docking station/speakers, pouch, box, etc.

Apparently this is the last generation of Panasonic minidisc players (read: rare) and looks/sounds great.

the unit you are looking at is the orange in the center.

asking 200 USD + paypal fees

  2. Yay! :D I'll leave feedback for you, please do the same for me.

It is, right? I love it. I'm really thinking I will keep my NH1 and sell the NH900 instead. I can get less money for it, but it's sad to let go of such nice technology...

I was curious, why did you decide to let go of your units?

I have both an iphone and ipod, have music on there but you know what when it comes to quality, I just don't sense the depth of field in music coming from an ipod.

I understand the simplicity and ease of use with the ipod, and I admit I manage my music collection through iTunes, but what if the hard drive goes bad? I doubt we can go anywhere without minidiscs.

If only mac support could be improved some how. It doesn't look like legacy md went anywhere with that... :mega_shok:

PS. You should keep the silver NH1 =]

  3. Back on the 13th, I used a Sony 80-minute disc to copy the sermon at church. I keep a deck there (but I can't remember the model) that I bought back in 1999 from Sears and use it to record the sermons in the mono mode. After the service that day, the disc just vanished! I could not find it anywhere...

Well, today (the 21st) I went to dump some clothes in the washer when I saw something down at the bottom; I picked it up and behold...the missing MD! I thought "well, this disc is now useless...". But I put it in the MZ-NH600 and it plays fine! After a week in the washing machine and it still works! I could not believe it...after a week of inumerable washings it still works!

That's interesting... considering mds are not waterproof in anyway.

I think your clothes must have cushioned the fall =]

  4. In the end I went with e Denon as far as I can tell it is still rated as industry standard and extremely well made. I will feed back as soon as I have play with it.

    great choice!

let me know how that works out.

And i apologize for the mistake.. when I read Denon somehow Onkyo went through my mind.

  5. I cant seem to record music usiing the the older discs in my new palyer.says cannot record... what do I do fromat! which I dont want to do.... or maybe put music to pm pc formdisc then format? what the heck? arent the old discs supposed to work in the new players?
