Tip: For Rich Text Editing, go to My Controls, and then click on Board Settings and set "Type of text editor to use when posting" to Rich Text Editor. Haha, I know mate..there's actually a new feature within Invision 2.1 that lets me automatically reply to topics like this -- you may see me doing so in the future. I think half of my posts say something about "Reinstalling" or "the FAQ".

I have to pin this in Live Recording; it'll get more visibility there. I think I'll try to make one of these soon, but I imagine the result will be pretty sloppy. Thanks for the contribution.

The board was down for a while due to a series of unfortunate events -- more unfortunate than that actual movie. All I can say is that it will never happen again, and I apologize for having things down for so long..and we lost some things. All posts that occured from late 9/10 till 9/16 have been lost. Furthermore, we lost some of the smileys. They will return soon. I thought that the Gallery would be alright tonight, but it looks like it's been delayed again and the Release Canidate isn't working. This should be resolved within this week. The old skins are on hiatus until the designer updates them to Invision 2.1. This should take under two weeks, and apparently things will be a little redone, so look forward to a better look.

The Times (uk) has a nice article on the upcoming Sony restructuring plan that will be unveiled on Thursday (9/22). The plan is a brainchild of Sir Howard Stringer, the first non-Japanese CEO/Chairman to take the helm at Sony -- this presentation will heavily influence the future of ATRAC and other Sony music devices. Of course, we've already covered what Sony is going to release -- but expect a wealth of new information to fill in the gaps. More units may be announced, as well.

A few news sites are buzzing of a software/technology called "Net K2", which seems to be compatible with ATRAC. --------- I will update this post when more information becomes available.

No idea. I imagine that they project they will employ the format for a certain period of time, and then reassess it's value at the end of it's term. It'll probably be renewed or dumped at that point, but there are many variables that can influence this positively or negatively depending on the flow of the market interest.

What about employing Hi-MD Renderer for this purpose? It'd add a few extra steps, but better than nothing I suppose.

Thanks for the confirmation. I wonder what the principal reason was for this -- it can only be assumed that the new flash players will have this as well, and perhaps even the hard drive units too?

Excellent review and pictures! I'm not sure how I missed this. How have you found real-world battery life to be? Can you recharge batteries through the unit? Is the output 5mW? It's hard to find specifications for this via Google.

Welcome. Sounds like you're either using hardware that is a bit dated or there is a specific hardware problem with the computer. What are your full system specifications?

Depends on what you have the "Sort by.." defined as. I noticed this as well when I imported the Garden State soundtrack to my HD3. Very annoying, but it doesn't take too long just to fix it when transferring to the unit. I wouldn't try it - Sonicstage is too fiesty. Report back if you do, though.

If they made the devices scratch-proof, no one would buy a protective case! Welcome to the world of business. I agree though, they should material that is resilient to such woes; it truly ruins the aesthetic appeal.
