  1. Ok, someone asked for it, don't know who though, but here are all the codes known so far. It's'the same mapscheme from Sam, but now extended with the Nxxx codes: 061 (Func L): SXY ::X:: 0,1,2,4,6,8,A,C,E=None (R500,R700,N505,N707) 3=SOUND 5=AU OUT 7=AU OUT+SOUND 9=BEEP B=BEEP+SOUND D=AU OUT+BEEP F=AU OUT+BEEP+SOUND ::Y:: 0=None (R500,R700,N505,N707) 1=Nxxx Keychange 2=Katakana Input 3=Katakana Input+Nxxx Keychange 4=F2(Unknown function) 5=F2+Nxxx Keychange 6=F2+Katakana Input 7=F2+Katakana Input+Nxxx Keychange 8=MIC 9=MIC+Nxxx keychange A=MIC+Katakana Input B=MIC+Katakana Input+Nxxx keychange C=F2+MIC D=F2+MIC+Nxxx keychange E=F2+MIC+Katakana Input F=F2+MIC+Katakana Input+Nxxx keychange 062 (Func H): SXY ::X:: 0=No MDLP 1=TimeMK+No MDLP (for Rxxx only?) (N505) 2=MDLP (R500,R700) 3=TimeMK 4=PGM+No MDLP 5=PGM+TimeMK+No MDLP (for Rxxx only?) (N707) 6=PGM 7=PGM+TimeMK It ends here; 8,9,A,B,C,D,E,F are absent. ::Y:: 0,2,4,6,8,A,C,E=None (R500,R700,N505,N707) 1,3,5,7,9,B,D,F=MTimer+P.D.M. /** F2 is still unknown, possibly a keychange too for newer models(e.g. R909 or N1). * Nxxx do have MDLP, so the No MDLP is for Rxxx only? */
  2. Has anyone had any succes with TOC cloning on the nxx series? It appears that everytime my minidisc (N707) turns on, so also when leaving the service menu after changing discs, it will reread the TOC on the currently inserted disc, no matter what the TOC in the minidisc says. I tried dirting the TOC before changing the discs, after and both. I tried doing a TOC update by removing battery, ejecting disc and by stopping a recording...all to no avail. Does anyone else had succes with TOC cloning?
  3. When enabling F1 only for the n707, the keypad changes. For the r505 and r707 F1 and F2 does nothing. So maybe for another model (the 909 or n1 for example) changes the keypad for that model and only for that model too).
  4. Ok, I have edited my post, because my discovery was actually not an discovery. Anyway I will just post here how to revert back to your original keylayout. When enabling F1 for the n707, for example when entering for item 061 'FD' in service mode, the keypad changes like this: play: vol + stop: vol - prev: prev and play next: next and play group: group (but is now the shift button!) end search : stop vol +: end search vol -: end search enter is now gone, but you can use menu instead of enter. The prev and next, now including play, won't interfere when going back to your original settings, because: [*] when entering the service mode sequence, pressing play does nothing [*] in service mode pressing prev and next does nothing So to revert back do the following: [*] enter the service mode sequence but now you use group as the shift button [*] do the same thing as before in service mode but while navigate through the menus use next instead of play [*] enter at item 061 'FE' for katanka support or 'FC' without it [*] press pause, remove power source and relax Disclaimer: Proceed at your own risk. I am not responsible for any damage caused by following these instructions, however it should be safe when executing them properly.
  5. Maybe the R500 don't need the remote to change the 8-step bass and treble like my N707. When playing a song, or paused while playing, the option "set sound" appears in the menu, will will allow you to change the bass and treble of the current sound set(sound 1 or sound 2) selected. Maybe it is the same on the R500, so I suggest you give it a shot.
  6. If you don't want the Katanka Input, enter for item 061 'FC' instead of 'FE'. In the other "hack"-thread it is mentioned to enter 'FD" instead of 'FE'. Although this will work, it will change the keypad's functions(so don't do that, like I have).
