The only way to get those recordings to PC would be in realtime... I beleive the JE780 has optical-out so if your soundcard has an optical-in you can get a digital copy. Otherwise you will have to go the analog route. Either way, you can use the freeware program Audacity to record the optical/analog signal. On the other hand if you know anyone with the MZ-RH1 they should be able to upload the tracks for you.
-
What (Hi)-MD unit are you attempting to transfer the songs with? Only the MZ-RH1 will allow any transfers of (most) legacy recordings (SP/MONO/LP2/LP4).
-
I gave my fiance my RH10 when I got the RH1.
-
Just be sure under transfer settings you have "Transfer As-Is" selected. That way SonicStage doesn't transcode to ATRAC.
-
Unfortunately you need to import/transfer from SonicStage.

Is the RM-MC40ELK Compatible with Older Non-HI-MD Players?
raintheory replied to viiv's topic in Minidisc
I'd try it with my R90 but a friend is borrowing it... -
You could always take the actual discs out of a few Hi-MD blanks and transplant them into these casings.

Is the RM-MC40ELK Compatible with Older Non-HI-MD Players?
raintheory replied to viiv's topic in Minidisc
Works on the MZ-E900. The only thing that doesn't work is the jog wheel. Pressing the jog wheel in (which enters the menu on Hi-MD units) serves as Play/Pause for the MZ-E900, but scrolling the jog wheel up or down has no effect. All of the other buttons/functions seem to work though. -
Kinda funny that the image shows the unit connected to a MZ-NH1, but that model isn't listed as compatible with the unit.

I am hoping to sell my Tascam 564 Multitrack MiniDisc recorder. To my knowledge this is the only multitrack recorder with a digital output (S/PDIF RCA). Have had this for some time, but recently have moved to PC/MAC recording. This recorder records and plays back perfectly, however the level meters do not work. This has been the case for awhile and has never been an inconvenience to myself because I would always set the levels by ear anyway. I don't have any electronics knowledge or I would attempt to fix the level meters myself. Possibly it may be a loose connector or cable. I really don't know. http://www.minidisc.org/part_Tascam_564.html Although the aforementioned link states that the unit can record/playback standard MD as well as DATA MD, this is not entirely the case. Whilst it can playback standard MD discs (recorded with or without a multitrack) it cannot record onto standard MD. All recording must be done on DATA MD. I will be including 2 DATA MD blanks to start you off. Here is a link to an instrumental track that I recorded with this unit a couple months ago: http://www.cosmicsky.com/audio/sedum_morganianum.mp3 I am asking anywhere around $120 for the unit (not including shipping), though feel free to PM me with any offers. I would prefer to accept payment via PayPal and ship to the states. Feel free to check my feedback on eBay, I use the same username there (raintheory). Anyone international that would be interested please contact me so we can figure out what shipping would be. [attachmentid=1991][attachmentid=1992]

How well (or not) does Dynamic Normalization work on the MZ-RH1?
raintheory replied to M.Linc's topic in Minidisc
Keep in mind the dynamic normalization is for playback only... So it won't affect discs you record with the RH1 for playback on legacy units. -

PLEEEEEASE help with MZ-NE410 NET MD problem!
raintheory replied to deepbluevibes's topic in Software
The DH710 will play back mp3 files directly (though there has been some debate, as well as tests showing that the mp3 support is lacking in some of the higher frequencies... though theoreticaly this could be counteracted by boosting treble in the EQ), it also may be a little sturdier than the other... though I'm not sure about that. Also I think it has a line-in (i'm not positive on this though), so you could record in real-time from anything with a headphone jack/line-out. The NH600D would be USB transfer only, and won't play back your mp3s directly (they will have to be transcodd to ATRAC). If you can find a killer price for it like I did, definitely worth it. You can probably find the NH600D for a good bit less than $100 on eBay. It will definitely fill your needs (with the exception of direct mp3 support). -
"uncommonly attarctive" is one of those things where I'm not sure if it's a compliment or not.. hehe

How to build a Stereo Microphone and Battery Box
raintheory replied to greenmachine's topic in Live Recording
yeah I'm not sure I follow you Church... Firstly that thread you're quoting was from almost a year ago... and second, I don't see where there is anything said that would make you feel this way... I'm sorry if theres confusion in the air here at the moment, but rest assured I know the regulars here and I highly doubt any of them are trying to make your projects look bad in any way. Personally I have seen your work and am very impressed. -
If it's standard MD, send me a PM... I can do TOC cloning with my current equipment and may be able to get the recording back for you..

PLEEEEEASE help with MZ-NE410 NET MD problem!
raintheory replied to deepbluevibes's topic in Software
I found a bunch of N505's on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-Net-MD-Walkman-MZ...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/SONY-MINIDISC-PLAYER-M...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-Net-MD-Walkman-MZ...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-Net-MD-Walkman-Mi...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/SONY-MD-WALKMAN-MZ-N50...1QQcmdZViewItem etc... I just searched for N505 and it brought up a bunch. It may be that your NE-410 may be biting the dust. My N420D (similar model) has trouble with random tracks alot of the time... will just sit and show the disc spinning icon but never play the track, though sometimes if i stop the player and restart it will work. -
Also try it while the unit is not in REC-PAUSE as well...

PLEEEEEASE help with MZ-NE410 NET MD problem!
raintheory replied to deepbluevibes's topic in Software
Did your old model look something like this? MZ-N505 NetMD ... Doesn't really look like the NE410 but it's the only gold one I remember seeing in stores. As far as your mp3's that aren't transferring... You could try re-tagging the mp3 files. SonicStage has been known to trip up on certain mo3 files because of their id3 tags. -
The RH1 can also upload pre-recorded commercial MDs, oddly enough.

Please help - Looking for a home or portable deck
raintheory replied to Donniesito's topic in Classifieds
You can upload (faster than realtime) your old MiniDiscs with the newest portable unit, the MZ-RH1: http://wwhttp://www.minidisc.org/part_Sony...ony_MZ-RH1.html You may be able to find a used deck on eBay or elsewhere that has an optical out. Check out these decks and search for the ones that are listed as havinbg your optical outputs... Just be sure if you have MDLP recorded discs that the deck is MDLP compatible: http://www.minidisc.org/part_Decks_Sony.html Really it all depends on what price range you are looking at. -
lol@sheep3... that's one quick sheep.

What have you just done to your computer!
raintheory replied to mercury_in_flames's topic in The Loft
Try putting the drive in the freezer for about 30min... Sounds crazy, but this has actually worked for me before.
