  1. Maybe we should change the post name... I admited above that joint stereo was better, why are you still insisting?... Lowpass? even if you can't hear them, I'm not going to cut any frecuency. And I keep the -h, or maybe -q 0 (from 0 to 9, and -h is about -q 2), but it's REALLY slow. I supose you use lame with ms-dos. I'll probably start downloading programs for testing Edit: I started writing in spanish  . Now it's all english
  2. 1st, as you cand read, that's an EXAMPLE. You're right saying that joint stereo is better, but even with normal stereo, lame make a so much better quality file than dbpoweramp does when converting a mp3 to another one. I'll hace to upload a pair of mp3s... -h --> Higher quality, but slower compression -b --> bitrate -m --> mode (s=stereo j=joint stereo)
  3. Using Lame by MS-DOS to covert a 128-192vbr mp3 to 128cbr mp3 (for Divx compression) you can add commads to the line in order to get some more quality. In Dbpoweramp yo can use presets for lame, but none of them lets you use those comands for making a 128cbr mp3. just try it... the difference is not small. an example: lame -b 128 -h -m s --mp3input C:LAME2nd_GIG_07.mp3 C:LAME2ng_GIG_07_128k.mp3
  4. Hello, I was searching for a good program to convert music between different formats. I've been using the Dbpoweramp, and I was happy with it, many formats, easy, not the best, but enough for me. But... when you convert to mp3, it uses Lame, that's good!! but you can't chage any parameters, and the quality of the 128kbs mp3 you create is... POOR (Just convert a 320 cbr mp3 son with lame by msdos properly and then do the same with dbpoweramp... you'll see what I'm saying) Well, I've found A LOT of programs, but the list is so huge that I thought that someone here could recomend me a program for this. No limitations, it doesn't have to be shareware. I just want it to be able to convert between this formats: APE-MP3 (lame with command line options) -FLAC-WAV-WMA-MPC-OGG Thx a lot!
  5. No changes I've recorded a new MD with SonicStage (No prev uninstalls to do, I formatted the HDD last week) and the limit remines. It records the whole disk, but only that little portion sounds. Time to look for a cheap way to get the NH900
  6. I forgot to say something... It play perfectly any MD I had recorded before, the 30 min problem is just with the ones I record now
  7. Long time ago my netMD (MZ-N505) "broke". I always said me "Blanc disk" after the recording. Well, I took it to the tech suport, and they fixed it (120 €, but I had the warranty  ) well, all right, I'm happy^^... just for some time, now it's "broke" again!! No matter what I record, it will only play the songs within the first 30 minutes. After that, it tries and tries to read the song... but it fails. No warranty this time... software problem? I don't think so after formatting... but I'm downloading SonicStage to give it a try. Has anyone had this problem? any way to fix it? Will I have to throw it by the window?? In the end I really prefer throwing it and then buy the NH900 :rasp: Thx! EDIT: Sorry, I put this post on the wrong forum!! not Hi-MD, just regular netMDs... too many windows opened  . I suppose any moderator will move it... sorry again
  8. 1st post, I'm new here... Hi everyone! Well... I've got a simple question about this new Hi-MDs, I read a few of the part I of this thread, and I found this: "A Hi-MD unit only plays tracks that have been encoded into ATRAC. Hypothetically, you can either transfer a *.mp3/other format to be compatible with the unit and the help of SonicStage 2, or from another source ala optical/mic-in." That answered me. It seems that I can play mp3 files on the NH900 I want to buy. But I wated to know if it has complete mp3 suport, I mean: Would I be able to transfer 128-320 cbr/vbr mp3 to the NH900 with the software it brings like I would do with some AC3 tracks? How many MBs would I be able to record with mp3 files? (I'm sure it'll be less than 1Gb) Some devices only suport up to 256cbr mp3, and most of my music is 320cbr, or APE (when would this MDs have a firmware update function so we can introduce plugins for reading new formats... seems easy to me) Sorry if this question was answered before... I'm somehow sure it was, but I thought it wouldn't matter asking this again, there are +15 pages on the thread... Thanks a lot!
