  1. No, it is plastic. I got this while I have the chance (to tie in with my brother's Japan trip) and also to act as a warhorse unit as I loved my EH1 so much that I want to prolong its wear & tear.

    Knowing that there's no more EH1 black units, you're probably right about the white one :ok:

    Btw, did your EH1 arrive yet?

    Thanks for asking but it havent arrived yet, I expect it next week. Mr. Kaneda from Pricejapan was very kind and helpful, he gave me the tracking number and he even changed the bill price so I pay lower taxes (26% is too much) ;)

  2. *OFF TOPIC*

    My addiction is on-and-off. I can leave for a few months (to try new devices), but I always come back to minidisc and all of its silly limitations.

    Heck, today I drove to Fry's on a whim and they were selling two (2) Sony MZ-DH10P for $99.90 each. Yep, bought them both. There are three price stickers on them: 1)$499.00, 2)$199.00 and $99.90. Yeah!!!!

    wth!!.. may you post a pic of the bill?

  3. The worst thing is making up feeble excuses to get another like my "I need another unit that uses an LIP-4WM battery". I've got to admit to myself that I really just like collecting the damn things.

    Tell me about it, the first one "something to fit my pocket", then "something that plays back Atrac3plus", then "something with good battery life", then "something with full metal body", then "something with a nice display", then "something without any display" :lol:...

  4. The headphone matter is very subjective, the only way to know what headphones are the appropriate for each one it is trying oneself ;) For example, my headphones are:

    for street

    [attachmentid=1689]

    for home

    [attachmentid=1690]

  5. I live in a warm city and for outdoor usage the headband headphones are uncomfortable because your ears get hot easily and start to sweat. My solution for street is the earphones, you know, those tiny speakers inside your ears. Check out these ones here

  6. - AA battery

    - Able to play mp3's (or mp3's converted to atrac, but better if plays native mp3 format)

    - Able to download to minidisc from PC quite quickly (but not so important)

    - I like the idea of being able to use 1Gb discs

    - Need line out

    - Radio would be nice, but not essential

    - Able to record lectures and have *some* way of uploading them to PC for putting on CD

    I will just name them (they are Sony):

    1- MZ-RH10 and MZ-NH900 (internal gumstick battery and external AA battery case), MZ-DH710 and MZ-NHF800 (internal AA).

    2- MZ-RH10 and MZ-DH710 play native mp3

    3- MZ-RH10, MZ-DH710, MZ-NH900 and MZ-NHF800

    4- MZ-RH10, MZ-DH710, MZ-NH900 and MZ-NHF800

    5- MZ-NH900

    6- MZ-NHF800

    7- MZ-RH10, MZ-NH900 and MZ-NHF800

    BTW am I right in thinking that you can bookmark tracks on a minidisc ie: if you are listening to an audiobook, you can make a mark and return later to the exact point you left off from? This would be *very* important for me.

    8- MZ-RH10 and MZ-NH900 have a time mark for live recordings so you can skip or back to the point where you put the mark.
