  1. Well I downloaded it and it actually works. But why is the wav file split after 640 mbs? Are the Sony technicians braindead? Have they never heard of Wav files being allowed to be 2 gb? Have they never talked to musicians who actually want to edit files after uploading to then burn it to CD? Well the MZ NH 900 is actually a good product, but Sony is trying its best to kill it. I sometimes wonder why I even bothered buying it. Tom
  2. I reinstalled my WinXP and started from scratch. My Sonicstage soundfiles were on Partition D: After installing SS2.2 I could not play any of my files, whenever I click on one it asks me if I want to buy a license. This crappy Rights management, I had forgotten about that. What can I do? Is all my music lost? This bloody DRM makes the HIMD players a no seller and a dead product, could be great but the absence of freedome ist simply unbearable. PLEASE help, Tomdigital
  3. Hi, well seems like you did not read the thread - it does not work 100%, it only lets you transfer about a minute - which is fine if that is all you have Lets hope the wiser people on this board find a solution fast. Tom
  4. Sorry to say the single line remote does not show rec levels - which really sucks. Therefore I ordered my 3 line remote from Audiocubes, because I really need that feature. Tom
  5. Sorry have not found an alarm. yours Tom
  6. Sorry but that info is wrong - this is the american version. Us europeans need the european version of 2.1, since the connect musicshop will only work then. So far I have not been able to update the european edition. Tom
  7. Well I received my NH 900 yesterday. It is great, but it looks more like the old 700 models, sounds great. But there is a huge minus. The disply is so tiny and it is nearly impossible to read when the lighting is not perfect. This is especially bad when you want to set manual recording levels - in a concert or so. It is absolutely impossible to read. Why does one still have to click through so many levels to set rec volume? The display on my RS 900 was much better. Wel all in all it is a good machine, but that to me is a huge minus. Tom
  8. I was wondering if there was a test comparing the new + 64 with the old LP2. I do not understand why there is not an Atrac 3+ with 132 that way the sound quality would probably be better than the old LP2 and one could get more music on a disc. With + there is a huge difference between 256 and 64. There really should be something in the middle. I was always very happy with the sound of LP2 especially for classical recordings. I compared the two new plus formats with Sonic Stage and the 64 sounds "dead" to me. There is something missing - hard to describe... yours, Tom
  9. Thanks Kurisu, the possibility to grab the digital sound in realtime via USB makes me a bit happier. I was really worried that I made a mistake in ordering thenew Recorder. But I still hope they will release a Wave converter soon. All this DRM is really getting on my nerves. If you want to steal music you can still do it. But all this DRM makes it a pain in the... for people who want to legally use the MDs. Like musicians wanting to do Demos and editing them on the PC etc. All this has become more difficult. The recording industry survived tapedecks and they should survive Atrac and Mp3 since these formats are not lossless. Therefore it is like making a tape. It is not an exact Digital copy. Ah well now I am rambling... thanks for your help, Tom
  10. Well I have read the threads on uploading from the new HIMD players. I have already ordered the 900 and am waiting for it to arrive, should be another week or so. I mostly use the MD recorder to record Live concerts, also the main reason for buying the new device is the improved quality and the abilty to transfer the files to PC to then cut them etc. Now it seems that through DRM I will not be able to do this. This truly sucks. I really hope that either Sony or some Hacker soon publishes a possibility to convert the files to Wav. Anyone found a way of doing this yet? Tom
