  1. Ha! I recall when Sony announced an audio jukebox only capable of playing ATRAC3(/plus). I've had it with Sony, they've pissed me off too much. I've used NetMD for the past 2 years, and now, though upgrading my OS to Win2K3 Server, can't use SonicStage due to the incompetency involved around coding the "OpenMG Secure Module". All my other apps work no probs at all on the platform.. so whats wrong with this one? Guess what? Even before, I couldn't upload, couldn't edit on the device... etcetc. Cudnt do shit. And now? DRM with uploads? Fucking imbeciles. I'm pissed off with this company. It's my right to do what the hell I want with my recorded audio, digital or not. Unlike iPod users, I can't use Media Player, MusicMatch or other jukies to transfer files. Oh sorry, I forgot RealOne: yes, which naturally requires OpenMG installation.
  2. I have version 1.300 from 2 yrs ago, if its any interest
  3. i followed the instructions exactly.. i got 80 and 10 as preset values, and replaced them with the one states in the FAQ. Mind you, I did play around with the other values for a bit (earlier in this thread somebody gives a very helpful list that allows you to mix and match new features)in order to combine the old BASS sound with LINEOUT. (before I was able to get my hands on a suitable remote.) Perhaps the unknown "F2" function listed in the table of values is the one that unlocks the NetMD track protection? Who knows. Im still unconvinced by the new SND-SEL menu, with B and T on their highest settings. I would say the old BASS sounded better, although I dont want to compare cuz i wud probably lose my settings and need 2 borrow that fuckin remote again. Oh well. Any other thoughts on this?
  4. I hacked my MZ-N505 yesterday and am reasonably satisfied with it. Only complaint: the S-Sound settings do not provide the same quality of bass boost the old BASS function did. Oh well. More to the point: Before, on the old, pre-hacked 1.400 firmware I could not rename, move or delete tracks or MDs that were made using NetMD, recieving the error "TrPROT". Now, with the hacked firmware, I can do as I like with these tracks; I no longer have to connect to my PC to edit these discs. Perfect! Only thing I don't like is having to use a friends remote to get good sound. LineOut is nice tho.
  5. I recently upgraded my operating system to Windows Server 2003, in Workstation mode. I installed SonicStage 1.5 and the appropriate NetMD drivers for my MZN-505. Upon attempting the "import" of mp3s into my music drive, the program simply exits and fails to do anything. The program behaves in the same way when I try transferring pre-encoded omg files to NetMD, simply closing without any response. Interestingly enough, the program will "initialize", or format, a MiniDisc for me via NetMD, so driver setup clearly isn't the problem. I have tried upgrading to SonicStage 2.0.. same problem. Neither SimpleBurner or RealPlayer 10 will transfer tracks to me via NetMD. Because of the nature of the problem I assume the problem lies behind the "OpenMG Secure Module" which both refuses to convert to atrac3 and transfer files. What I am looking for is either an upgrade for the "OpenMG Secure Module" or different software all together. I have tried getting hold of BeatJam on the web, but have failed. I would appreciate it if somebody could help me out with this rather tedious and annoying problem with Sonys half-arsed software , or provide me with a download link to BeatJam. Thanks for you help!!
