  1. Thanks again for the advice but I am sick to death of SS at the moment. It's a shame because Sony have just lost a customer. It's time to divert to the world of mp3 players simply because there isn't any of this hassle with specific file types that no-one knows the coding for. Thank you to everyone who has replied and helped me try to resolve the situation but now its time to upload all my cd's again into mp3 format!
  2. Unfortunately not So it's all lost? Is there a converter available to download that would change .omg files in .mp3 files?? thanks for your help anyway
  3. Thanks for the tip, I unistalled that hotfix and Sonicstage 2.2 now loads up fine! woohoo, however it won't play my songs and comes up with this error "There is invalid rights management information in the OpenMG content." Any suggestions?? Thanks to everyone who is helping by the way
  4. nope I'm using Windows XP but that particular hotfix is also on XP. Should I try deleting that?
  5. I found the webpage you mentioned and followed the instructions to the tee. My version of SS 2.2 doesn't even load up fully. It gets halfway through and then announces that it has performed an error and has to close "Omgjbox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." The .omg files still won't play in WMP 10 either Any other suggestions??
  6. Thanks for replying yep, I'm using WMP 10. 1) Basically it says first of all that it doesn't recognise the file type but it might be able to play anyway, then it says "Windows Media Player encountered an unknown error. This can occur when another program or operating system component encounters a problem but does not communicate the nature of the problem to the Player." and then it closes itself! 2) If i click a song to play on my desktop then sonicstage opens itself up but then doesn't do anything, it doesn't even register an error at all, just nothing, as if I hadn't clicked anything. But if I tell it to play mp3 files it comes up with "Omgjbox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." then it askes me whether I want to send an error report. 3) Nothing that I know of, it wouldn't be a virus because I scanned my computer earlier and also I have a firewall, so it is unlikely to be that. Thanks for your help
  7. Ok, now I have roughly 4 gigs worth of music on my computer uploaded through Sonicstage 1.5 which I got with my N10 I bought last xmas. Normally I use windows media player to play these songs as this seems to be the only programme, except for SS of course, that actually plays them. Everything has been working fine until perhaps a week or so ago when WMP just stopped playing .omg files and crashes everytime I try to play them, (I have lastest version btw). As you can imagine I wasn't impressed so I tried using SS but that wasn't playing the songs either!! Therefore I have no idea what to do, I tried a complete uninstall, using a post on this site and then a complete reinstall of 1.5 but no luck, I tried the same again but with 2.2 or 2.1 instead of 1.5 but again no luck. I was wondering if there is anything else I can try or is that music effectively 'lost' as it can't be played Thanks for reading
