I just got one of Macally's Jbox mini which is only (W) 2" x (L) 2.5" x (H) .5 ". It seems to work well and is pretty small.

Has anyone tried using one of the USB car chargers from Boxwave? They offer a standard and High Output charger that plugs into your car power outlet and your USB cord plugs into it.

Has anyone in the USA purchased from Minidisc Canada? I was wondering if you had to pay any kind of import fees or any extra charges other than the freight. Thanks!

I already have the 40ELK remote!! Just need to order an extra battery or two and I should be set.

Well I finally decided to bite the bullet and order an RH1. Minidisco had three left this morning so I thought I might as well order one before they are gone. They had 10 on hand when I first checked and since I am not sure they will get more I thought I would take the plunge!!

I currently have a MZ-NH900 and two MZ-RH10. It seems as if the mini-disc format is pretty much at the end of its life and I was wondering if it would be worth it to purchase a MZ-RH1 before they are all gone. I do not do any live recording just record music from currently owned or borrowed cd's.

I was just looking at Sony's site and noticed that the RH1 was not listed anymore. I never did get one because I had purchased an extra RH10 when they were still available. Guess I will stock up on blanks like everyone else.

Not sure if anyone has heard of Union Electronic Distributors. They are based out of Illinois and have the Sony A1071445A RM-MC55ELK/SM and A1071446A RM-MC53EL/SM remotes listed on their parts list for $82.95 and $34.95. They do not have them in stock but say that they can be ordered. Their web site is http://www.ued.net/catalog/cat_item_idx_4471.html and their number is 1-800-648-6657 if anyone is interested. They also list a lot of other Sony parts. I found their web site while doing a search.

Hi Dex Thanks for the post and the link to your review of the RH10. I think this clears up a few things. As I posted earlier, I noticed that the disc I had recorded in ATRAC3, the sound seemed much better to me and I could turn the volume down on the receiver somewhat. thanks tasdisr

Hi Human, You are correct. I turned the equalizer off and the volume up on the RH10. Since I am not an audiophile and really don't know what it means, when listening to a normal CD, the volume is set around -35db when listening to the RH10 I have the volume on the receiver at -20db. In comparison with my NH900 set to line out, I can turn the volume down slightly to about -25db. I think the sound of regular CD's are much better. However I did take some songs that I converted to ATRAC3 132kbps and the sound was much improved, at least to me. Hope this helps. I will be trying some other recordings and will try to post my findings. thanks

As I said the sound reproduction was good, not great. It is no where near as good as using my CD/DVD that is hooked to the stereo. But I like the idea of hooking my RH10 to the receiver for listening to a large block of music without having to change a disc, especially since my CD/DVD player is only a single disc unit.

I did get a cable and hooked my RH10 to my Yamaha receiver. I turned the equalizer off and the volume all the way up. The sound overall was pretty good. I did have to turn the volume up quite a bit on the receiver, but the sound was good. The disc I used were just some mp3's of various bit rates and sound quality. I converted the tunes so that I could record them on another disc to try on my NH900,since you can set the headphone jack to line out, something that cannot be done on the RH10. The sound, to me at least, was the same the only difference I did not have to turn my receiver voulme up as much. Bottom line is I was happy wih the sound reproduction on my home stereo.

Hi Human I am going out later today to get a cable and will let you know how it sounds, thanks

Is it possible to connect my RH10 to my stereo receiver? Do I just run a cable from the headphone jack to the input of my receiver?

I was told by Sony part that p/n A1071446A has been discontinued.

I think you just solved my problem. They are mp3's that I did not covert to Atrac. Thank you!!!!!

I recorded a disc on my RH10,but it will not play in my NH900. I get a message in the display that says "cannot play" for every song. It displays the song title but will not play it. In the upper left corner of the display it also says"VA", which I have never seen before. It seems to play all other discs fine. Any ideas?

Is it possible to record WMA DRM copyrighted files on to a minidisc? I am able to download audiobooks from our library for use on a computer or an mp3 player. When I try to transfer to my md recorder through SS, it says it is converting, but the status bar remains at zero.

I just received an email today that Sony has opened a SonyStyle store in Cincinnati, Ohio at the Kenwood mall. Hope to get up there this weekend or next to check it out. I wonder if it is close to the Apple Store.

What is the difference between the RM-MC55elk and the RM-MC53EL/SM on Sony's direct accessories site? Never mind I checked the post on the different remotes and found out that the 53EL is identical to the 55elk except it does not support multi language displays.

I think the parts center wants $156.95 for the remote. Since it is bundled with the D-NE920, it would be cheaper to buy the D-NE920. I have seen it for 129.99 sometimes less

I emailed buyfromJapan about availability of the rm-mc55elk and was told it will not be released in Japan
