  1. Sony just put up the 4.0 software for US models! Go get it! -Derek-
  2. Hey all, I needed a new Hi-Md for a show this weekend and I froogled and found that tapeandmedia was the cheapest site that had Hi-Md's in stock. I didn't really care if it was the old type black discs or the new blue ones, I was just going for the cheapest! Anywho, I got mine in the mail today to discover that they have the blue ones in stock! Even though the picture on their site is the old type one, they must be shipping out the new ones! They are only $5.19 on the site or for those that think MD is on it's way out, order 50+ and get em for $4.89 a piece! -Derek-
  3. Yeah, I don't have another player to try it in...I think I'll try to find a cheap 600 model on ebay. -Derek-
  4. Hey, did you have to format the disc first? Or did it read the disc with the current data on it (ie. save the data)? I was hoping Sonicstage 3.2 would recover a lost recording that tells me "cannot play" when trying to play it...but it won't play it or upload it. I want to try out another player, but I don't have access to one...but if the new unit saved the data on your disc, maybe it will be helpful in my situation. Let me know! Thanks. -Derek-
  5. Hey, did you happen to try a damaged file on a disc, one that says "cannot play"? Does it playback or convert if you did? I hope this version plays them back !! I lost a very important recording and am hoping to rescue it from the "cannot play" problem. -Derek-
  6. Darn, I thought the language packs would do...I think you need an actual Japanese version of Windows... ***forum rules do not allow discussion of illegal activities such as software piracy*** -
  7. I've been wanting to format the lappy anyways...I just got it and HP had all their crap loaded onto it...been wanting to do a nice clean XP Pro install on it (it had Home on it)... but it seems my XP Pro disc is at my other house haha...doesn't look like I'll be exploring the new SonicStage tonight... Maybe someone else here has time! By the way, I don't think you need to reinstall windows for the Japanese language pack...just go into the Control Panel, Regional and Language, language tab, then tick the box for East Asian language support and it'll install them...but since I don't have my XP disc here, I can't install them haha. I think after installing those supports, you can then install the SS Japanese software (might have to set it to Japanese in the first tab first)... If anyone else explores this, let us know your results! -Derek-
  8. The internal error message means that you bumped the recorder while recording. It make a tiny gap in the audio, and SonicStage doesn't know what to do when uploading that segment so it just says error. Even if you try to play it back in SonicStage it will just stop playing when it gets to the error so you can't even make a bit for bit recording via soundcard. You can do bit for bit up until the error then you will have to switch to analog to save the rest of the recording (since the unit itself will play it back fine just with a gap during the error), unless Sony comes out with new software that fixes this issue. -Derek-
  9. Hey guys, I discovered the link to the 3.2 software...unfortunately you need to have your language set as Japanese for it to install..I'm formatting my laptop and gonna reinstall Windows in Japanese to play around with the software. Recently one of my shows that I recorded became the infamous "cannot play" and I'm really hoping SS 3.2 will be able to play it back! here's the link: http://www.aii.co.jp/contents/smojsdmk/p-a...geInstaller.exe Good luck testing (and deciphering the Japanese if you don't know it-shouldn't be too hard though)! -Derek-
