  1. Okay, it's a long story, so get ready for a real novella: When i bought my minidisc player (MZ-N420D) It came with Sonicstage 2.0. After fixing up my connection, I was happy the way it worked. After about 6 months I realized that it must be out of date. I hopped on sony's site and downloaded the update for 3.1. Here's where the problems start. After Restarting and running 3.1, a windows installer message kept popping up, trying to install omg secure modulw (why it didn't do this in the installer is a mystery). It couldn't, because the server was inaccessable. Not regarding this message, i tryed to record some things to my md. Here's the problem: It wouldn't recognize the MD. All there was was some CD burning functions. After searching through the help file, I tried retrieving 2.0 byu system restore (my disc was lost). It got it back, but i couldn't use it, it started up and came to a black screen. Nothing. Again, I tried to install 3.1, but it would only install afew components. Trying to make a clean slate, I Manually deleted all of my sonicstage files. Another problem arises. This time, when I try to put on sonicstage 3.1, the installer terminates as soon as it reaches installing sonicstage. Ugh. Also, I can't uninstall 2.0, beause i got rid of the unwise file! I've also found sony's tech support has been sufficiently pwned by management, because after thoroughly explaining that sonicstage won't install, they tell me to re-install it! Talk about dumb! So can you guy's help me get sonicstage back on? Or at least tell me where to get other software choices? All the ones I found are only one way (PC 2 minidisc) or seem to have no recording function at all (wincue). Please try the sonicstage fix first, though. It's probably the best choice out there, considering it came with my player.
