Well it looks like I'm going to be in the exchange program. I'm going to send it in to sony in a few days. I got the confirmation email which had a part which said: "Note: Your model is part of a Sony exchange program. However, the direct replacement is not currently available. You can send your unit in and you will be contacted for more information and alternative models available." Wonder what model I'll get, the suspense is gonna drive me crazy. Maybe I'll get an nh900 or something, that would be awesome.

I don't know if I have a warranty, how could I find out? I bought it from a seller through amazon.com and have no original paperwork. I've had it since november. Also I forgot to mention that I don't do ebay, any other site is fine.

I normally use my remote, but I forgot it today when I went out. So I just used my plane minidisc unit. I go to flip through songs on my 600D and spinning the jog dial did nothing. The current screen just stays, no long lists pops up. I then pressed down hard on it and turned it, and got it to scroll the a couple songs. It only scrolls if I press extremely hard and when it does scroll, it goes really slow when scrolling. I think my jog dial may be busted. There is probably nothing I can do, but any suggestions are appreciated. Or any idea how this happened. I've only had it since November. Also, I'm open to any new unit recommendations. Like the last time when I was looking for a unit, my budget is very limited (my reason for coming to the minidisc format). I really don't want to have to spend more than 80 bucks, but if I must, then 100 max. Maybe something like the blue 600D or the DH710? UPDATE: As stated in the third post down this one below, I'm sending me nh600d to the sony exchange program. I read the terms and conditions and am a little worried. It states: "For all exchanges due to physical damage or exchanges due to damage caused by accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, or acts of god, Sony will provide a written estimate of exchange costs and obtain your consent and credit card information before exchanging the product." Do you think they will charge me extra because it is the jog dial thats broken?

I'm looking for a cheap pair of in-ear canal headphones (not earbuds). I hear that they are comfortable and don't make your ears hot or hurt. I'm looking for a pair for under 20 bucks, ones that I can buy from a local store, and ones that have a part that goes around your ears (so they don't fall out). I'm open to any suggestions.

I have 247 songs on my hi-md disc for my 600D and want to have them all listed in alphabetical order. Do I have to go around dragging each and every song? Or is there a way in sonic stage for it to do this for me? Or is there atleast a way for it to alphabetize my library? Thanks in advanced. (currently using sonic stage 2.0)

No. I did it through the player. I still can't figure out how to do it with the remote. If I hold down the jog dial on the remote, all it does is turn on the backlight.

Yeah I'm sure. Maybe you guys are misunderstanding me. I know that I can just scroll through songs by spinning the jog dial (its very obvious how to do that). I am asking how to SEARCH by track in alphabetical order. On the 600D itself I would hold down the nav/menu button for a few seconds, then scroll to useful, then hit search, then hit search by track and then it lists all my songs in alphabetical order for easy navigating. How do I do this with the remote?

Yes I'm aware of that (kind of obvious), but I want to be able to go into search like I do on the 600D itself to search by track in alphabetical order.

When I hold down the scroll wheel nothing happens. If I just press it once it brings up a menu consisting of "normal play", "group play", "artist play", etc. The Artist Play function works nice for searching by artist, but I can't find a way to search tracks.

I'm liking my new rm-mc40elk on my 600d. But one thing I like to do all the time is search by track and artist. I can't seem to find it on the remote, can someone tell me how to find the feature?

Good choice, you won't be disappointed. I got into MD's a little over a month ago and bought an NH600(D). It's really good for the price and like you, I have no need for a mic input, radio, etc. (Although I did want a remote, so I bought a 40elk) It's perfect for people that want a music player with removable media (the main reason I wanted one) and its got real long battery life to boot. Welcome to MD.

This stinks that it can't just stay on all the time. I just want to glance at it from time to time to see what song is playing at night. Is there atleast a button I can press to see whats playing without changing screens or anything?

How do I make the backlight stay on all the time without having to hit a button for it to turn on? I'm using the 600d with it.

Hope you enjoy your nh600, I currently have the US version (nh600d) and love it. And just to clear something up, you can use search mode on the nh600. So without even using folders (I use only 1 folder for all my music) you can sort through everything you need in ABC order by Artist or by Song name. It works perfectly. For example it may look something like when searching throug artists. Adam Sandler Avril Lavigne Blink 182 Britney Spears And say you selected Blink 182 then it would look something like this. Adam Sandler Avril Lavigne Blink 182 -Song 1 -Song 2 -Song 3 Britney Spears Just by scrolling with the jog dial you can go through all the artists and songs, very convienant.

Very easy to use, doesn't crash, and most importantly, it just works.

I'm looking to get some speakers for my mznh600d and was looking at the GPX SPK1805 http://gpx.com/shop_ind.php?id=%20%20143 Look good? What do you guys think? Anyone have experience with them? Mods, feel free to move this thread if you feel this question is better in a different section of the forum.

I ordered a remote about a week and a half ago from sony dapc and it has arrived yet. Anyone know how long it normally takes to ship from them?

Yeah if you can get it to fit. But the radio will not function, only basic functions will work.
