  1. I agree with you. Sony could easily transform their MD recorders: Stick memory card instead disc. As a matter of fact, I could never trace any equivalent to the Sony portable MiniDisc as far as size + recording capabilities are concerned. I own an MZ-RH910. I like the small size + Mic setting capabilities (low/high sensitivity, AGC normal/loud music) which means that with my ECM-717 mic (modified with 4.5 volts battery), I can enjoy any repetition / concert without concentrating on the recording. The result is almost perfect, and sometimes even better than the pro recordings when I compare to the official commercial CD of a concert (I buy it when there is one issued). The only inconvenience is the lack of drag and drop support for the files and the obligation to use this crazy sonicstage software (in Virtual PC as I have a Mac!). So, I keep my MZ-RH910, and will buy a couple of 1 Go blank HImds just in case (I got only 1 piece!!!). One thing to mention: Sony did never care about consumers' remarks / needs and have always been very proud of themselves trying to impose their products / solutions. This time, they loose. Unfortunately, we loose too...
  2. SonicStage 4.3.01.14050 - 22/02/2007 is the latest version. In order to get the standalone installer (Europe): Go to your national Sony website Search for: "vaio support" Choose any model vaio support site Select: support/downloads Select: drivers and updates Choose main category: vaio notebooks or vaio desktops Choose any Model Category Choose any model Choose your sytem Choose your language Go down and click: SonicStage You got it !!!!!! USA URL: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list....ateType=Updates ++++++++++ Apple Powermac G4 1,3 Ghz - 2 Go RAM - Mac OS X 10.4.9 fr // VPC 7.0.2 - Win 2K sp4 fr - SonicStage 4.3.01.14050 - Hi-Md renderer 0.54 // Sony MZ-RH910 ++++++++++ I am just using SonicStage + Hi-Md renderer to get my Hi-Md live recordings into my Mac. For this use, all working great - no issues sofar. Of course the transfers/conversions take quite a long time, but I don't care as I am leaving that running overnight. Owners of new Intel Macs should not have any problem with Parallels or coming VMware instead of VPC. I cannot but repeat what a lot of people allready siad: When may we expect Sony to extend the full capabilities of Hi-MD Music Transfer for Mac to the MZ-RH10/MZ-RH910/MZ-RH710 models? OK, I'm dreaming.
  3. Same story with me ! abt 9 hours to transfer 30 min. pcm...... as usual with Sony, one has to be patient. It seems that Mac wave importer for RH1 will be avaiable...this summer (might work with all consumer HIMD models??) according to minidisc.nl ptrubert
  4. Thank you so much for the tip.....working perfect with my MZ-RH910 !!! ptrubert
