  1. Thought I'd add to the suggestions and solutions on this thread by sharing my very recent experience. My MZ-RH1 is about 6 months old and used very rarely. With the ‘Low battery’ display flashing, I tried to recharge from the mains unit. Nothing - the unit kept going in to 'Data Save', "I'm switching off now" mode. Instead, I plugged the unit into my PC and got the ‘Charge’ message up. Immediately unplugged the unit from the PC and plugged back into the mains unit, and got the ‘Charging - mins left’ display. Possibly, it's some kind of firmware recalibration process that's occurring here but, hey, what I know about electronics appears to be on par with Sony Support.
  2. pa5005 - thank you! I think I'm instruction-book myopic or something. After following your simple directions with easy success, I checked the book again, only to realise that I hadn't been reading it right. Thanks for your patience!
  3. I know that this is the type of small question that infuriates people, and seems a waste of forum space. But the truth is that I have very little use (as present) for most of the MZ-RH1's functionality and, in addition, I'm remote- and instruction book phobic. So, the question is, could someone please give me an idiots step-by-step guide to changing playback speed via the remote?
  4. Mine's black, sold in the UK. I wonder, did everyone get an optical cable? My manual has it down as an optional extra, but was included in the box.
  5. "didn't realize a Hi-MD blank was included" Hey, I didn't get one with mine, which I've had about a month. Maybe throwing in a blank H-MD was an afterthought?
  6. IFTS, How about ringing these people up to see if they really have RH1's in stock, as advertised http://www.0-one.co.uk/mz-rh1-p-47382.html I know nothing about the company, mind you.
  7. Should people require some blank discs to go with their cute MZ-RH1, here's a good deal (even with the postage) http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrpp...sZminidiscQ5fau
  8. If they only had two in, then yours was indeed the last one, because I had my order with ASKDirect confirmed just two hours earlier than you, after having read Tunster's latest post! Thanks Tunster! P.S. You ought to be on commission (even though ASKDirect must be slashing their margins)
