  1. On my machine, instead of using Applocale, I change the non-unicode character set into Chinese. After I edited the registery table, files can be converted correctly. However, titles and artist names displayed as "???", instead of characters. Shall I turn off the non-unicode setting and use Applocale instead?
  2. OS: Windows XP SP2 Home Edition Software: SonicStage CP 4.0 [uS version] Player: MZ-N10 (old school one) It just said that the track failed to transfer or convert. Tracks with English filenames are OK. Anyone has a clue? Shall I install Asian-Pacific version? I have a collection of Japanese and Chinese music at my machine.
  3. I bought a pair of Sony SRS speakers in my school's book store (70% off, 10 bucks). Now I decked my MD and connect with the speaker, pretty neat.
  4. I am pretty satisfied with my N10. I don't do a lot of live recording so I just transfer music to my MD from time to time. Can't think of a good reason to move to a HI-MD, unless the N10 no longer plays disks.
  5. I have not bought CDs for ages...My community library has a huge collections of CDs available for renting (and FREE!) I bought Aaron Neville's Natural Boy two years ago as Mother's Day gift. She loves it!
  6. just ripped some CDs to my desktop and I transfer some to my laptop. I don't like to change computer setting all the time.
  7. Walnut Tree... I do love walnuts. heee heeee
  8. My PC suffered from BSOC from time to time when I transfer MP3s to my MD player... Now it is even better--SonicStage (version 3.4) refuses to transfer MP3 for no reason. I am thinkiing of ditching SonicStage from my machine but if 4.0 is any better than 3.4, I like to give it a chance.
  9. A MP3 player called SanDisk Sansa e260 (4GB). Thought it would replace my Sony N-10 MD player but it never did.

    LP2 or LP4?

I choose the recording format according the sound quality of the source. WHen I use optical cable to record CD quality music, I choose LP2 When I use jack to jack to record music with Line-in, I just choose LP4. MP3 is a little splitting here. In most cases I use LP2 if MP3 files are 128KHZ and above.
