  1. Cheers. That was easy!

I've now put the MZ-RH1 on the 'bay in a listing starting 24/12 for 10 days. It's down as UK delivery only as international shipping via eBay just has too many variables. But if any of our international members wish to bid then feel free and we can sort out a delivery option on completion.

If all that ^^^ is against the rules then feel free to edit.

  2. Well it appears from the responses on here and PMs I've received that I'd have more luck if I split this lot up. So just to keep everything neat and tidy I'll divide it up into bundles. Hopefully this will mean I'm not posting off individual MDs from now until I die of old age.

Bundle 1: The MZ-N710 plus all the Colour MDs, new and used. Including remote, cables etc

Bundle 2: The NW-HD3. Including cables etc.

Bundle 3: The MZ-RH1 plus all the used HiMDs. Including remote, cables etc.

Bundle 4: The unused, unopened Premium MDs.

Would anyone like to make an offer on any of the above? I still really don't know what they're worth and the likes of eBay are really no help at all due to the number of chancers out there.

    Anyone...? Bueller...?

  3. Right then. I've finally pulled my finger out and got everything together.

So that's an MZ-RH1, an MZ-N710 and an NW-HD3. All working and holding their charge.

    Plus 5no. used Hi-MDs, 7no. used Colour MDs, 5 new/unopened Colour MDs, 10no. new/unopened Premium MDs.

Also includes all the correct cables/chargers, the correct remotes for the two MD players and some funky space age Sony headphones I found in the same box. I've also got some period Sony travel speakers which may or may not work and will be thrown in.

As previously mentioned I can't really be bothered with eBay and I especially can't be bothered selling off everything separately so they're all going in one big box for £250. With three players and all the MDs I think this is fair. But I'm willing to be corrected so long as you're not trying to pull my leg. I'm not going to pull yours. If something isn't as described I'm easy to find.

I'm in Sheffield and would much prefer collection or I can meet within a reasonable distance. Any postage would be in addition to my price.

Let me know what you think. And I've just realised this is in totally the wrong section...

  4. I used to buy from tapecity myself :(

Last time i bought a HiMD was from the sony centre high street shops for someting like £1.50 a disk.

I only wanted one to try out on my RH1 for a bit of fun. I can't see myself using Hi-MD as a practical method of recording/listening to music when original SP mode sounds so good. They are far too expensive to purchase for the "fun" factor.

If either of you guys want a disk or two then PM me an address. I've about half a dozen used ones that are surplus to requirements. Genuine offer to enthusiasts.

Have a look at my previous posts and you'll see I'm off loading my MD gear. When I get round to it.

  5. Reviving this one.

It's been a year since the last time I dug out all my MD stuff. I run on a 12 month cycle. However, this time I really am getting rid of it all. I've had another play and though this may upset one or two on here, for me MD has no place in 2014.

Anyhoo, some details of what I have are above but unfortunately the pics are no longer on Photobucket. Here is one I took yesterday...

Everything has to go and I'll get better descriptions and pics up within the next day or two. I'll give some thought to price too as ideally I want everything to go together and preferably collection. I'm in Sheffield.

Any comments in the meantime would be appreciated.

  6. Is it just that your EL can display the characters "Hi-MD" when one is inserted into the original MZ-RH1? Not sure if that's what you meant. I'll have mine in front of me this evening so I'll look then.

  7. Ah, didn't realise you were a young 'un ;)

Well I had a dig around last night and found some more Hi-MD discs, my old MZ-N710 and my old NW-HD3.

The MD has the stand/cables etc but the add on battery holder is missing and it appears the rechargeable battery is dead :( I left it on charge on the stand all last night and nothing. HD3 seems to work OK though.

  8. Well, the N710 got here today and WOW. Such an awesome looking thing. One of the things that bugs me about the N510 is the battery compartment being raised out from the body so this is very nice, especially with its stand.

It came with some 80 minute gold premiums and one red one was already in the player without a case for it, which bugs me, it likely won't get used for much, if only a disc I take out and about.

It also came with the in-line remote as well as the stand and SonicStage CD, but no charger (which is fine, I have one already) and no USB cable (which I also have multiples of since its a common cable).

Also pictured are the 60 minute discs I grabbed from eBay.

So yeah, £40 well spent I think.

Just caught up with this thread. That was my first MD player! It's buried in the attic somewhere. I'm going to have to find it now!

And you mentioned phones earlier. Look what I came across the other day. Charged it up, popped in my micro-SIM (in an adapter), works perfectly.

The classic Nokia 6310i. Battery life can be measured in weeks!

  9. I've found myself turning small electrical items upside down to see if the rubber feet are worth nicking. Closest so far was a portable drive an employee left on her desk. Thought that might be a bit naughty though.

I'm in Sheffield. Drop me a line if you have a use for those new, blank discs of mine. I also found an RM-MC33L that must have come with my previous MD player. That's surplus to requirements too.
