  1. No, this is a 74 minute disc that used to work. I was simply re-recording on top of it to remove two-second gaps between tracks that the old software M-crew always put in. (I really like that new MD recorders can connect via USB and do fast transfers in SonicStage). The MZ-RH10's screen displays a "DATA SAVE" progress indicator with two rows of boxes that disappear one by one. It gets stuck about halfway through that process and I have to unplug the cable to get SonicStage to respond. I then have to plug it back in to eject the disc because the recorder has locked the eject button and won't release it until SonicStage has control again.
  2. I initialized it to Hi-MD, quit SonicStage, went to Explorer and formatted the disc. Then I opened SonicStage, reinitialized it as Net MD and tried the recording again. It still got stuck at 14:30 left. So I guess this disc is damaged in some manner. Are there ways to fix it?
  3. I have a Maxell MD-74GD (74-minute Gold disc) that can't record anything once the disc reaches 14:30 minutes left (SP). Is there a way I can fix this, like formatting the disc instead of just erasing the TOC? If so, I have three recorders I can try this on: MZ-R700 MZ-RH10 (Hi-MD) MDS-PC3 (a pretty old deck that connects to a PC and uses M-crew, some pretty old Sony software) I borrowed the Hi-MD recorder from a friend and had been using SonicStage when this problem occurred on a MD I was re-recording to remove 2-second gaps between songs. I'm recording in old-fashioned LP2 mode, since my two players aren't Hi-MD. Can SonicStage or M-crew reformat a disc? If I initialize the disc into HiMD mode and then back to MD, will that do an actual format?
