  1. I bought a Sony MDS-JE320 minidisc player off ebay. it seemed to play my discs, but produced no sound. i took it to an authorized repair shop and now it plays at SP speed, but discs recorded at LP2 are not playing. I can see the TOC. the time count shows as the disc "plays", but there is no level read out and no sound. At SP speed, no problem. At LP2 speed, no sound. is there a setting i'm not aware of? the manual says nothing about SP or LP2 speeds. thanks!
  2. Hello, I bought an old Sony MZ-N710, mainly because I wanted "top cheap hi-tech". Ok long story short, I was in high-school when I've seen this in Bomfunk MC's - Freestyler, and I was like: "man I would kill for such a thing". Those formats never been popular in Romania (where I'm from) since our country was in deep poverty. Ok, so long story short I had to be 35 years old to get one, second hand, from my country and I paid a hefty 100 Euro for it. ....Ok, meanwhile I'm all FLAC's and studio monitors, high-end professional stuff, but I want to use my MD also. The only problems I have is how to use a "Loseless" format with my unit working with LP2 compression? I know this was called SP, but after some diggings on forums, they say: man no matter if you are recording your music through your optical IN when you play it back the sound will be like LP2 compressed. Well to be fair it would be a possibility for me to find out about this myth (if myth or reality) using experiments and software for comparing things, but my question is, is this true? Is any other way around? P.S. Looking to buy a Hi MD now and hopefully one disc (since they are rarer than gold). I looked some time ago (years) for the top spect model from Sony and a guy wanted like 6000 USD on it so.. nooo thanks I'm paying this.. no way.. my car is cheaper than this.. no way.
  3. Hello!!!!!!!!!! I know this is all about minidisc on SONY INSIDER but I want to break off a little to discuss Sharp portables. If anyone wishes to contribute to this it would be freaking awesome!!!!!!!!!!! Kind of in a rush right now while I am starting this thread, so I will post my info, reviews, and my opinions of them. "Sharp only" features and Sharp vs. Sony is a perfect example of my goal/approach for this topic. Participation would be really cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Catch y'all later fellow MD-Junkies!!!!!!!!
