Guest bmn38
Hello All-I have a few questions that perhaps somebody can answer. I have a Sony MZ-N707 type-R minidisc that i never really used much. When I got it I would burn images and mount them and use simple burn, etc. Then I got an Mp3 player, then a Rio Karma 20 gig job. I gave the Mp3 player to a gfreind and use the Rio. I ski just about everyday and have a helmet with built in ear phones and the other day I almost dropped the Karma of a lift in a storm, so I got to thinking "Maybe I should use that minidisc...."SODid a little research installed the new SS (ver 3.0) and RealPLayer 10. I had heard people having good luck transfering with RP. I did not have any sony software installed prior to SS ver. 3. RealPlayer recognized my player after drivers and SS were installed and I transfered music to a intialized disc. The disc was blank and the music was 256 stereo mp3. The conversion/transfer seems to work (and pretty fast too) but the playback has all kinds of warbley sound artifacts in it. Have tried multiple discs/mp3 files. Playback of old discs is fine.SonicStage recognizes my player and disc contents and hangs on the atrac conversion process.I do use fddshowwindows xp pro sp2Athlon xp 28001535 megs ramdelta 44 sound card/breakout boxtascam us428 control surfaceI have a fairly optimized sytem w/o a lot of startup tasks running/extraneous services and I use cubase sx/sonar 3 quite a bit and my recordings are fine so I don't think that excessive system tasks are interfering with the conversion process. I also do quite a bit of encoding and transcoding with dbPoweramp and Canopus ProCoder and everything is usually fine with that output as well.Sorry for the length of the postany help is appreciatedtom Edited March 25, 2005 by bmn38
Guest bmn38
I do use fddshow←okay-disabled mp3 in fddshow audio filter config and RealPlayer works sweet, and fast. I may not even try SonicStage.tom
