GYM | Network Walkman BROWSER-PLAYER-EXTRACTOR

Ok!

I see that so far the GYM key generation wizard isn't going anywhere for NW-A1000 or NW-A3000 users.

Connect Player simply refuses to put the crack tracks into the player...

I wonder why...

Meanwhile you can use Sonicstage to do the process... In sonicstage it works, because i was able to test it!

Simple process:

1) Install sonicstage v3.3

-- RECOVERY OF UNFINISHED WIZARD SITUATION --

2) Check your network walkman root folder...

- If you find a folder named "OMGAUDIO backup" and no "OMGAUDIO" folder, rename "OMGAUDIO backup" to "OMGAUDIO"

- If you have both a "OMGAUDIO backup" and a "OMGAUDIO" folder:

- create a backup of the "OMGAUDIO" folder in your harddrive

- delete "OMGAUDIO" folder

- rename "OMGAUDIO backup" to "OMGAUDIO"

--

2) Run the KeyWizard, generate the crack mp3 files.

3) When the wizard asks you about which software you will use to upload, select Sonicstage and clic Next.

4) Open Sonicstage

5) Import the tmp folder inside the directory of GYM.

6) Transfer all the imported tracks to the device.

7) Shutdown Sonicstage

8) Follow on with the wizard until the end.

Like this Keywizard will work.

This process is a resumed version of what is explained here:

http://www.atraclife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=773

Try it out...

Did you get the same feedback from another user ? or is it just from my experience ? because it is very possible that I'm doing something wrong somewhere and that somebody else suceded in transfring the cracks.

Has anyone succeeded with GYM and MP3FM in importing the cracks to NWA3k?

Xispe if SonicStage is used to import the cracks, is CONNECT Player still useable?

I see no reason for CONNECT player to be usable after importing tracks with sonicstage. Your previous database is backed up and restored at the end of the wizard, so everything should go fine.

Transfering the crack*.mp3 tracks by using Connect simply doesn't work. A lot of users are having problems, that's why I advised to use Sonicstage to transfer these tracks.

Hello! :)

As there are a lot of users with the new A series of walkmans, i'm trying to fix the keywizard so that is possible to use sonicstage or connect player for the key generation process.

This means that this will help people a lot, as they won't have to fake that there is a MP3 File Manager installed and stuff like that..

What we have is a player without any database (no OMGAUDIO, since the original was renamed) and all the crack.mp3 tracks inside the tmp folder. What we need is simply write this files into the walkman, so that the wizard can look for the keys. So, now we are supposed to do this with MP3 File Manager, Sonicstage or Connect. In the case of MP3 File Manager, the scenario is simple.. just drag the files. As for Sonicstage or Connect it is necessary to add the files into the library, and then transfer them as is. (and remove them from the library, not to keep all that trash...)

My question is that... for the new A players, why can't we use connect directly ?

I saw in Ltmayonnaise instructions that:

"This whole GYM installation process will only work using Sonic Stage, but before you scream… Ohhhh but I wont be able to use my artist link! I was able to get it working with Connect Player after getting GYM installed."

from

http://www.gaugestudios.com/nwa1000/

I am thinking on a much more simpler process:

"

Transfer MP3 Files with Sonicstage or Connect Player

1. Import all the files in the tmp folder and subfolders to your library;

2. Transfer all the files to the player (AS IS, without converting them into ATRAC);

3. Delete from your library all the tracks added in step 1.

4. Close Sonicstage / Connect Player

"

Isn't this enough ?

Does the OMGAUDIO directory structure created in Connect is different than the one created with Sonicstage ?

Thanks!

Not at this time.

But! for next release we will have bookmark edition and playlist creation / edition!

It works! B)

err... these icons look very japanese :wave::unsure::mellow:B)

In the http://www.gaugestudios.com/nwa1000/ guide it says if we use SS to import music then CP won't recognise the A3000 anymore. has that been fixed?

Using Sonicstage to move the cracks to my player I got a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error omgjbox.exe has "Requested runtime to terminate it in an unusual way" at 99%....

Well I finally got GYM to work on my NWA3000. CP is completely f***ed up though, it will crash every time I connect my NWA, or if it's already connected, after the initial Reading Data reaches 100%.

As far as I'm aware, importing the crack.mp3s with CP screws it over, so it has to be done with SonicStage. I haven't gotten MP3FM to work.

I got GYM to work with my NW-A3000 first try.. I imported the crack tracks in SonicStage and then followed the instructions to be able to use CONNECT, I've had no problems at all!! All works really nicely.

But yes, MP3FM doesn't work (but I never intended on using it anyway).

Chris,

Did you start from scratch with an empty A3000, or did you get GYM/SS to work with tunes already in the A3000 without loosing them ?

Xispe, have you considered to try to reverse-engineer the encryption algorithm instead of finding values by brute-force? It seems that someone (http://www.livejournal.com/users/waider/415461.html) has managed to do it, though I believe it is from the 1.x version of MP3FileManager. Hope it helps.

Let me tell you that so far you have done a terrific job for helping all of us NW-xxx users. Keep up the good work!

How do you completeley remove SonicStage and CP and start over?

First open "Add or Remove Programs " Delete all the software which are related to Connect or Sonic Stage like Soni c Stage 3.3 ,Open Mg Limited Patch ,Open Mg Secure Module etc .Now Open Registry & Delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sony Corporation(Be careful while doing this ).

Also please don`t ask questions which are not related to the Ongoing topic .If you have any further query relating to this question ..Please start a new topic under relevant forum.& We will help you accordingly

Sorry for asking, but could other A1000 / A3000 users tell me if using GYM1.2b they can transfer the crack*.mp3 to their player using Connect ? I can't do it and was wondering if I was alone in this situation...

Thanx

To upgrade from GYM version 1.12 to version 1.2beta which files do I have to replace?

Just a suggestion but it might be worth including upgrade instuctions on the GYM homepage

You will again need to run Keywizard again .

You will again need to run Keywizard again .

I've now worked out which files to replace, the GYM.exe file and also the GYM XML file which there didn't seem to be a copy in version 1.12

I'm sure I read that once the KeyWizard has been run and the database is generated then it doesn't need doing again. And to bear that out the program seems to be working fine.

The playlist function is FANTASTIC. I'd given up trying to use CONNECT to do this, I haven't got days worth of time to put aside for gererating each playlist in CP.

Well done folks, I'm really looking forward to seeing future releases and the features you manage to incorporate. Sony should sit up and pay attention to what it is you have managed to acheive in a relatively short space of time: fast, light, reliable and functional software. Has Sony ever managed to do this??

Today I used 1.2beta (Using Soinic Stage ) & I lost al lmy songs on my Network walkman  .

I think it is better to Use GYM with Mp3 file manger.

Not an option with an NWA1k or 3k. I've had no problems with upgrading to 1.2beta. I think you might have transfered to many files and deleted the databases.

A set of upgrade instructions on the GYM homepage would be handy

If you already had GYM 1.12 running with no problems, there is no need to run the wizard again. Simply overwrite all the files that come in the zip file.

Thanks ,I will just do that .But i was basically trying Gym Keywizard with Sonic Stage option.

I would Like to tell you something that whenever I try to use SonicStage ver3.3 to transfer Crack.mp3 .I got a message like "Looking for some deleted tracks .." & This message never stops until I put some music via Mp3 file manger .So During that period I was not Allowed to transfer "GYM" folder onto my player .

Try to transfer some music into to the device using mp3fm or sonicstage, and see how the player behaves.

Another solution is to run the key wizard, hope that the computer doesn't shutdowns again, generate the keys, and use GYM to save all your mp3s to your harddrive. This way you will be able then to reinitialize the device, and copy everything back into the player by using mp3fm. I did this once, after damaging the database...

I tried transfer some music , but i got the same error. If i do all GYM process again, will i any chance to get my music again, once corrupet my database??

Thanks!!!

If both sonicstage and mp3fm show all the tracks in the player, GYM will also be able to display, play and extract them from the player. If you want to skip the key wizard process, wait a few days, as it seems it is going to be dropped to a much better solution :)

We are a step away of killing that wizard process. Check the other post, regarding key computation. Thanks for your support!

Just an update on the 1.12 beta with my Vaio pocket

Works good except the bookmark and playlist feature does not work.

1) When I create a PLAYLIST in Gym and then try to listen to it in the Vaio it does notshow up at all. Perhaps it is because there is no "Playlist" category in the Vaio but I was hoping it may appear under "GROUP" category - however no such luck :(

2) When I add songs to the BOOKMARK sections (1 thru 5) in GYM and then attempt to view then im the vaio they do not appear at all.

Regardless thanks for your work X- you are the man!

But I do not think the Vaio with playlists based in the player in my fantasy will ever be a reality.

Cheers

I have VAIO and it happened the same as bongocanuck.

Vovo, I was doing my own research. Perhaps I am wrong, but instead of 03GINF22.DAT (which seems to be empty in VAIO), I think that the group information comes from 03GINF01.DAT.

I don't know if NW-HD has same structure for groups, but perhaps Vovo you can try to work with groups as with playlist by using this 03GINF01.DAT.

Please, confirm if you have some progress. I will try to have a look during the weekend (if having time)

Thanks

-Gabi

For resuming

______KEYGEN__PLAYING_ COVERS__PLAYLISTS___Using

HD5_____X________X_______X_________X_________SS (for cover) - MP3FM

VAIO____X________X_______X_________-_________SS (for covers) - MP3FM

NWA____X_________X_______-_________-_________CONNECT -> I'm looking, a guy send me files...

(Issues MP3 with covers inside)

Playlist for VAIO -> strange issue, perhaps SS do something special...

At yhis time a playlist made by GYM is not compatible with SS, i think when we'll find why, it will be ok for VAIO.
