I'll keep an eye -ear- out on those, I'm only half way right now :P

I really am thrilled with this set, glad I got it, I'll send a copy over shall I ;) ?

I haven't seen this particular set - thanks for the offer, but I do have a lot of these tracks already on various other Coltrane collections apart from some of the later stuff which is not always my cup of tea. I would certainly check out some of the other Prestige era Coltrane if you like the selections on those discs.

Those sessions do stand out indeed!

Quite a wide-ranging selection indeed, nice to hear the evolution in Coltrane's way of playing -and the improvement in recording techniques over time too :glare::D ...

Never mind the SQ of some early recordings, Coltrane still is great to hear. It's like the Jimi Hendrix' Taj Mahal sessions, poor SQ, but fabulous stuff!

Th SQ does tend to vary on some issues more than others. There are some very good re-issues out of most of the early studio stuff (the RVG 24-bit remasters on the Presitge re-isssues or the 20 bit K2 mastering on the Japanese JVC Victor re-issues are usually excellent even on the mono recordings). I find with some of these Coltrane (and Jazz re-issues in general) that it's usually the live sets that suffer most from poor recordings.

Paul Chambers | Bass on top

Bass On Top is a really good album. A great ensemble on there with some excellent bowed bass by Chambers and smooth guitar by Burrell. Kind of funny actually as I was just listening to this one:

Listening to an Irish Band I recorded last night , in Jiyugaoka , at a Bar called O'Carolans , I used the AT-822 and the RH1 and a clamp type mic stand to suspend the mic from the ceiling , I might be persuaded to post something after I get the editing done .

Britney Spears, Blackout.

(just for a complete change of pace from Pink Floyd!!)

is this where we say " And now for something completely different?"

Life is fun with variety, I'm actually listening to 40 versions of "Popcorn, from the original bu Gershon Kingsley in the 60's to Hot Buuters, to Kraftwerk, to Jean-Michel Jarre and more, kind of fun

I'm listening to my radio show from this past week...

Every other Saturday night I play electronic music from 10:00pm EST into the early morning hours...usually wrap things up after 2:00am. I record the FM broadcasts on my MZ-RH1 in Hi-LP mode.

You can listen online by going to http://www.wgdr.org and clicking 'listen live'.

Sounds like dream gig to me, 4 hours to play what you want, such a wide field, you could go forever without repeats.

for me, just finished Unanswerable Lust by Luxuria, what memories, great album, also just finished a 1958 album called Electrosonic by the Electrosonics, basically made with oscillators, wow, what fun

and next, Electric Cafe by Kraftwerk,

gotta have music,

Just finished Chrome Dreams 11 by Neil Young, and Long Road out of Eden by The Eagles, shows the guys who have been around a while still know how to put out something good, let's see if Coldplay will be able to do it in 30 years, (don't think they can do it now!!)
