Access Error?

I have a brand new rh-10 (~2 weeks) and haven't ill-treated it in any way. I recently tested recording with a few himd discs in pcm mode and then tried to listen to them through sonicstage. the first one was a dj mix recorded in one take, that one gave me "access errors" on the player's screen and playback stopped. the second one was just random tracks recorded, each one as a new take. i also got access error on that but the playback didn't stop and as far as i can see the files transferred ok to my computer. the dj mix was just to test the recording so i didn't bother transferring it. but i need to be able to record and upload long one take recordings as that is the main purpose i bought a minidisc recorder for..

i thought maybe the first disc is damaged and i'm going to take it back to the store i bought it from (these recording were made on 2 different discs, both unused before).. i just want to know if other people get these messages or if the problem is only with my player? does sony have international warranty? if my player is faulty i'd like to take it to sony finland, not to germany where i bought it from..

edit: and actually the last track on the second recording also didn't work, sonicstage showed some error and i can't transfer it.. sad.gif i recorded probably 60 minute on the disc. is this a sign of my unit being faulty, or are the himd discs very unrealiable!?

Check the LOT-Number of the discs (on the back side), if all your discs have the same number, buy a disc in a different shop and try again.

If that one fails too, return your recorder.

If discs from different LOTs (production runs) fail, then it is highly possible, that the recorder is faulty

Normally, Hi-MD discs are as reliable as regular discs.
