jessicapuccio
hi there -we purchased a sony md walkman mz n910 in the uk a few years ago when we were living there. now we have relocated to the us and are trying to transfer music to the dics but the device (though plugged in and charging) is not being recognized by sonic stage. i have seen different versions of sonic stage but shouldn't the device we have work with the software we have? could the device not be recognized because of the voltage difference?any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated.kind regardsjessicawe have xp operating system and are running the newest version of sonic stage and all drivers dowloaded from the sony website
A440
If you have a spare USB cord, from a camera or PDA, try that to make sure the connection is good.Assuming a good connection, then try this first software step: the mysterious but strangely effective MDAC Repair Tool from Downloads. http://forums.minidisc.org/downloads/details.php?file=8Also, try opening SonicStage first, then connecting the unit via USB. The voltage shouldn't make any difference because it's actually running on the same voltage as the battery, not the mains. jonny mac
The N910 is not HiMD so it will not be recognised by the computer unless Sonicstage is running. Any version of Sonicstage should work with the N910 but since it doesn't seem to be working I would suggest uninstalling Sonicstage and then reinstalling. Use either the newest version (3.3) or the one on the CD that came with the player (probably 1.5), either should work. I'm not sure if you need a transformer to operate UK electricals in the US? If so then you shouldn't have it plugged in at all.As A440 suggests, trying a different cable may help.Check that there's a disc in the player and that the protect tab is off.
