Just wondering which OS everybody is using.

i'm currently on Windows XP, but i'm thinking of switching (or dual booting) Linux (Ubuntu)

Only problem is that i doubt my MD is gonna be compatible with Linux .. i'll dig about. :P

I voted linux,

Well at the moment I'm useing windows, but next week my hard drive comes for my laptop so I'll sort out the partitioning then...

It will be 20GB windows and 100GB linux on my laptop,

I use linux most of the time, just not with things like SSCP lol i need windows whenever I use that! ;)

So I voted linux.

Your best dual booting windows and linux, minidisc isn't that good with linux, I don't think there is any good sofware for it...

There is NotMD, but I haven't got it workin'!

Wow I can't believe I never heard of that NotMD program. It's a shame the developer stopped working on it... Maybe we can spark some interest somehow. I guess it wouldn't work for transferring tracks from Hi-MD>PC though.

I wonder if MarC (Hi-MD Renderer) develops any stuff on Linux.. ?

XP, Vista, Fedora, blah blah blah...haven't used a Mac in a while.

You run the Vista beta? How well is it running for you? i installed it on an old P3 800mhz 256mb ram machine and it didn't even work. Most likely a compatibility issue with the video card .. it's very temprimental.. <_<

Yeah, i think i might try a dual boot.

If i can get this NotMD aplication working, then it'd all be great. If not, real time in Audacity it is!! :(

Actually, I'm trying a method I came across that involves using VMware Server and a virtual installation of windows (with samba sharing enabled to get files from Linux>Virtual Windows....) I'll post back if it can get it working smoothly.

Right now the Virtual Windows 2000 install is downloading and installing SonicStage..

See here: http://undocumentedcode.com/?p=15

EDIT: It's all pretty humorous actually... I'm doing this whole thing from a VNC connection on my Laptop computer.. So from this WinXP Laptop, I am controlling a Linux box upstairs, which in turn has a Virtual installation of Win2000 Pro on it..
