Homemade car stand for NW-HD5

Question

Dear all,

I'm back with more homemade stuff! :D:D

This time we are talking about a car stand for my NW-HD5.

So here is the deal, there is a panel with my car dash that contains... nothing (a square of 5 cm x 5 cm).

Taking advantage of the squareness of the HD5, i was able to build a metallic stand using common screws, "L-type" adapters for holding shelfes, glue and a small amout of carpet :lol:B)

Xispe, I can't seem to see the pics from this old post. Probably gone now.

I made up my mind that I want to make a stand/craddle for my car too. I have a Vaio Pocket and with its LCD, it is a shame not to have it up on display somehow with my center console.

I looking for to create a 2 prong type of holder that can slip in/out my compartment.

Can you send/post me pics again?

PS - Enclosed is a quick schematic of what I would like to make. Thoughts/comments welcome

Hmm, I'm still seeing the pics on this thread...

As for the stand, I'm still intent on mounting mine on the sunvisor instead of using a bulky stand. Just seems a lot easier and neater to me. I'll get around to it as soon as it gets a little warmer, LOL. Today might not be a bad day--got the day off and it is 8C outside but I'd like it to be a little warmer already :(

JSP62: How was your trip to the hardware store ? :P

Ug, have not had an opportunity to get started on it.

Hopefully this coming weekend, I will have some free time.

I am excited and of course will get pics up soon hopefully.

Thanks for asking

Very nice Xispe, isn't so much better to install yourself rather than pay some random person a stupid ammount of $$$ ?

PS - You didn't mention your make/model car.
