In the nwz-a80* its like that:

1. Turn the power on.

2. Press the [bACK] key for 1.5 seconds or more, the home menu

is displayed.

3. Slide the [HOLD] key to set the hold on.

4. While pressing the [OPTION] key, press the key as following

order.

kodigo,

I have an NWZ-A816 and tried to enter service mode as described on the screen you provided but it didn't work. the unit doesn't reboot. There is a warning about the voltage. Does that mean it won't work unless the player is fully charged or is it just a recommendation ?

Or maybe I'm doing it wrong...

the way I understand it :

- switch on device

- go to home menu

- set hold switch on

- press "option" key and do the following combination while pression "option" key : up - right - down - left - up - play - up - left - down - right - play

- a color bar is supposed to appear on the screen

- set hold switch off

- unit is supposed to reboot

- press "back" key to enter service mode

is that right ?

The service manual says switch off the device, then hold the back button for 1.5 or more until it returns to the home menu.

hello,i need that menu too.

someone asked up there, why we need it,it is cause of in some areas sony sells this players with limited sound output. but i guess this will fix if we enter that service menu.so it would be nice to get it :excl:

I do not think the issue relates to volume limiting on some Sony players. That is no longer an issue. Only the original author knows why they want the manual.
