Christopher
Since I'm not well-versed on where most Minidisc recorders are made, perhaps you can shed some light on the models that you're interested in? If you're not too sure, list some basic features you'd like [netmd, etc] and a price range and we can go from there.
arrycomm
Well i'm being offered N710 for Rs. 12,000.00 i.e. around $265, but the MD has been manufactured in China and similarly N910 is available for $310 or Rs. 14,000.00. So please if u could let me know which makes are good and durable, and also comment about the Singaporian versions of N710 ($230) and N910($284) as listed in www.bluetin.com
Christopher
Singaporian versions are essentially the worldwide versions and have no output cap, if that's what you're wondering. Like I asked before, what features do you want? Then I can make a suggestion.
arrycomm
Features that I'm looking for in the MD recorder are: 1) NetMD. 2) Mic IN with Sensitivity (Autogain + Manual). 3) Great Amp + VPT + Equalizer. 4) (Analog + Optical) Line IN. 5) Headphone/Earphone/Line OUT. 6) Small + Light + Durable(mettalic body). 7) Great Battery Life 50Hrs+ (with included battery). 8) Backlight LCD Remote. Christopher
Looks like it's N910 or bust for you, then. It's a shame you're not inclined to try a unit with a digital amp - as it provides superior sound. I think you'll be content with a N910, regardless. arrycomm
what model do you suggest if one goes only for the best sound quality and also has recording features. A backlight LCD remote would also be great. thanx.
Christopher
Would a lack of LCD on the unit itself bother you, leaving all operations to remote and stand? I've got a good idea..
arrycomm
well if i could change the remote i.e. replace it with some other compatible remote then its fine for me.
Christopher
http://www.minidisc.org/part_Sharp_IM-DR580+DR80.html The Sharp IM-DR80/580. It's an amazing unit.
