Hi Sony Walkman users.I recently bought a NWZ-X1050 as I strongly dislike Apple products and wanted a good MP3 device with OLED screen for easeof use to use a secondary and portable music player. As I get into I find someproblems and you might see me from time to time on these forum.

One major headache isSony’s reliance on WMP as their music organizer and play list generator. I havebeen using Winamp for years (v 5.61 at last update), and although I have someissues, it works fine and is not broken. In fairness I did download WMP 11which comes bundled with the unit, tried it for some functions, but it was notas easy as Winamp and didn’t do anything for me except try to clash with all myother media devices and I will not use it as its too complicated to learn anddoesn’t have the ease and functionality of Winamp.

Searching around thenet and this forum, I found reference to a Winamp plugin http://forums.sonyin...91-ml-sony-faq/but its an ancient post with dire warnings. Does anyone have experience ofusing Winamp with the Walkman NWZ-1000’s?

Ialso found reference to Mediamonkey, which gets good reviews, and afterchecking it out I am prepared to try it out as a Winamp replacement. But againthe plug-in issue. Anyone out there using MM with a NWZ-X series? Can it make playlists and sync with the unit?
