Hi to all !

Since AtracLife forum is not available anymore, I post here about JSymphonic, for people owning "old" walkmans which need SonicStage.

JSymphonic is an open source program multi-platform which the purpose is to replace SonicStage (only considering the "transfer" part, not the JukeBox part).

JSymphonic is a java program working wherever Java is installed (on Windows, Linux or MacOS). JSymphonic can be placed in the player itself to make your music available from any computer.

Every models from NW-HD3 to NW-A80x are supported. ATRAC and MP3 files are supported, OGG, FLAC, APE, AAC, MPC and WMA files are transcoded within the application.

Screenshots are available here.

JSymphonic is still under heavy development. Missing features are:

- cover support

- playlist support

- intelligent and sport features (for concerned models)

You can download the last version here.

You'll need FFMPEG if you want to transcode files. Read this to know how to install FFMPEG for your OS. Windows users can download FFMPEG here.

Please, visit the Website, you'll find "Help" and "FAQ" sections. You can use JSymphonic's forum to talk about the program, request feature or report bug. Note that this forum is shining new, the old one was hosted in SourceForge.

Well, the GUI is new and the code has been reviewed, but if you experienced such a difference, I guess you have a player from the 3rd generation.

For this generation, the speed has been increased by changing the way the files are encrypted. Instead of encrypting bytes one by one, the encryption is done using packages of 4 bytes. This saves a lot of memory consumption.
