I got my Pioneer MJ-D707 along with the TDK HC-1 cleaning disk. I used it once and I didi it down to the letter, according to the instructions given on the disk's case. During the cleaning (after several minutes) the device gave up giving any sounds or any marks of action. Then the device was turned off and on. After that it gave some errors on LCD. I ejected the disk and, with nothing smarter to come up with, I turned off and on the device again. Ever since then all that happens is giving the "SIO error| message on the screen. I do not claim the cleaning disk destroyed the device but I know it worked prior to this cleaning attempt. In the minidisk.org FAQ, Section on disk drives, there's a questin 17 concerning this. I agree with the remark of how bad HC-1 can perform on the device.
