Sorry to hijack but I have this exact same problem. I got a sony WALKMAN, installed the new sonicstage and transferred a few files and turned off my computer. When I came back to do more, I got the 00004e2e error and got the same empty error box when i tried to authenticate my database. I was connected to the internet.
