Sorry, could have sworn I saw a Yamaha MD forum in here but after registering I can't find it! New to MD. I found this unit and one disc in what appears to pristine condition. Fired it up today. I have Yamaha MD4 with a 144 mb MD. shows blank data disc inserted. Recording seems fine, mono signal into channel one/group 1-3 punched/pan left/gain @11 oclock/fader at about 7 /group 1-3 monitor select. Meters show recording is taking place. After recording, as per user manual I hit "last record search" IN and playback is just flashing. When I hit play button as per directions....nothing. these leds are flashing.... as though in some standby mode. S marker Play led in marker about 30 sec later the readout jumps to 72 frames then about 30 sec later timer jumps to 2 seconds. But no meter readout. Is this because I have a data disc? Sorry about the newb questions. Thanks
