  1. Yes, but recording in PCM would make for an awful lot of discs. Hi-SP sounds great with the bonus of space on a disc for more than a single CD (that's an 80 minute MD formatted for Hi-MD, btw--I have lots of Sony ES MD's to use). I know it's considered "old school" to use optical line in real-time recording, but it has a certain je ne sais quoi for me. And I usually do my recording overnight so I have a new disc to look forward to in the morning. My own MD idiosyncrasy, I suppose. Yay! Oh, you've made my month! Murphy's Law has been swinging for the fences with me lately, and it's sooooo nice to have something on the flip side. Thank you! It truly is the simple things in life that are the most encouraging --
  2. Long-time MD user here, just received an MZ-M200 for my birthday to replace my MZ-R700 whose headphone jack died (cost more to repair than get new, curse you Gods of MD Repair ) Using my old unit, I got into the habit of recording straight from CD using the optical line in, and am recalcitrant to change that method, especially with the evaluation that both SonicStage and Simple Burner's codecs don't result in as pleasing a sound. However, there is something for which I'd like to use SonicStage: titling tracks. Hence my (likely silly) question if one can title tracks already recorded to a Hi-MD disc using SonicStage. For some reason, I've built up the impression from a number of posts that it would be possible to do this. I'm not sure why...maybe I'm just dazed and confused from all the overtime I've been putting in at work. But for some reason I've got this idea that such might be possible. MDCF members are welcome to testify to the degree of my dazed state of mind and deep confusion by pimp slapping me if I am in error. Don't know if it'll help my overall state of mind, but it will at least let me know where I stand regarding titling my Hi-MD discs. And all the work I'll need to do in that regard. I await your feedback and/or punishment for such a ridiculous question --
