  1. hmmm, the file transfer didn't work at all... seems like i actually used a real atrac file for testing purposes in ss... i don't see any other way to get my music back with all the tags than renaming them by myself... I'm gonna do it when it's cold and dark outside and i havent got anything to do for a long time. thanks anyway... btw: i'm sticking with connect now, because ss won't start proper anymore... i have got to say: sony screwed up bigtime with its transfer software.
  2. hmmm, yes it does actually work! thanks a lot at! but i'm missing one essential feature (it's one for me at least): the artist link feature! is this actually working with ss?
  3. ok, first post, so hi all! now to get straight to my problem: i got a nw-a3000 and filling it with cp, ok till yesterday everything worked fine until cp refused to recognize my nw. i tried using different usb ports --> no result. i saved all my music fromt the player to my hd in the believe, if cp would recognize my player again i could easily recover my songs from the backup. So i formated the walkman and replugged it to the usb port, and guess what - it worked, cp would recognize my player again! i was happy, but only for the first few moments. The next thing i did, was filling the a3000 again with my files form the backup (btw. mostly mp3 coded, only a few atrac rips from cd). In the library everything looked the same like before (yeah i cleared my library too, to distinguish between files i had on my nwa and files i had on my hd). BUT when i tried to submit the files to the player it said something like (i got the german version, but i hope i translate it right somehow) "file format not supported". SHIT i thought first, but then i rememberd that the files are stored on the player with mp3codec, just with this nifty .oma file ending. So i renamed one file to *.mp3 for testing purpose and checked in winamp if the file would still play. it did. But all the metadata was gone no id3v1 no id3v2 tag - nothing. hmpf. At least CP transmitted the file to the nw which worked out well, except for the meta data like artist, titel,... you know the rest. Now my question: Is there any way to get the files onto the nw again _with_ the metadata included? When i put them into cp as *.oma files the meta data is there, but it's gone as mp3. I don't want to rename every single file by hand... if you know any other way, please tell me thanks guys
