  1. Hello, I lost my double A battery adapter for my minidisc. I bought a couple on ebay but they weren't the right size. Sony Canada says it'll take four to six weeks to order one. I need one, or two, sooner than that. Anyone have a spare or extra adapters kicking around? I will pay handsomely. n
  2. I'm having similar problems with my MzM100 batteries. The battery that came with the md originally worked fine. Then I didn't use it for eight months, and the battery wouldn't charge. I ordered two new batteries from Sony, and am now attempting to charge them. Attempting being the proper word here. Neither will accept a charge from the charger. The unit works when plugged in, but the charging screen does not appear. It will occasionally flash up and then disappear. I'm trying to charge the battery from the usb connection but that doesn't seem to be working either. The flashing battery appears in the upper corner of my screen but there's no life when I unplug. Could someone supply a link to GP gumsticks?
  3. Thanks for the heads up on the pcm-sp-lp difference. I do have the manual, but it says nothing specific about stereo vs mono. I bought the unit a while back and didn't use it. Now I need it to work, and I need to learn how to use it. If I'm understanding this issue properly - big if - then I can simple record in mono by adapting the mic input? That would save me a wack of time and annoyance. Right now I have to manually switch all files from sonicstage to desktop to audacity where the file is altered, one by one, before it can be read by the audio editor I am obliged to use. Anything to eliminate these cumbersome steps would be excellent. Thanks for the info. I'm sure I'll be back with more questions at some point.
  4. Okay, I've figured out my software issue from yesterday's initial post. I need to be recording my sound in "mono" not "stereo." There is no obvious switch on my MZM100. I go into the menu, select Record for setting and have three choices: pcm, sp, and lp(?). I assume pcm means mono and sp means stereo?
  5. Thanks, frustration was clouding my mind yesterday. I'm sure I'm missing something simple.
  6. Hello. Stumbled on the forum while battling an annoying problem. I have an MZ-M100. The recording works fine. I can transfer the files to my laptop. What I can't do is get the files into a specific audio editor. I'm a broadcast journalism student and Must use a program called NewsRoom 4. I've been told the files must be 32 000 bits, and mono files. The Newsroom4 audio editor will not accept the sound files as I have them configured. The sonicstage files will not transfer to the audio editor without a "Err, Invalid WAV Format." I can play the files with windows media player, audacity, but this audio editor won't accept the file. I'm fucking terrible with software, by the way. Any clues? fp
