I realise this is no deep, 'techy' problem and feel I should apologise for that - and I've been told not to get my hopes up too much about this, but I can try. A couple of days ago some wonderful specimen of human existence broke into my garage and, amongst other things, stole the facia from my MiniDisc MDX-CA 680. It was a rare oversight for me to leave the facia in place, but hey - isn't that always the way? I found the Sony Parts and Accesories Center number (London) in the Tips and Tricks section and have been told by them that the last part they sold for this model was in 2004. However, I was informed that, unlilke several other manufacturers, Sony do supply facias and they're going to find out if it's still available and get back to me in a few days. In the meantime, can anyone suggest any other course of enquiry that might produce a happy outcome? I'm reluctant to give up on this unit because it's a gem - it's never missed a beat and it still sounds great, despite plenty of use (or rather, it did!). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
