I have used a Yamaha MD-4 for years and have had lots of fun. Now I have a MD-8, but I cant' figure out what the grouping buttons are used for. Can anyone give me a clue? Reading the manuel has left me more than confused. I suspect it is intended to group various channels together, but why? Thanking anyone in advance Luke7

Hello to all. This is my first post here, glad there are others around with similar addictions. I have had a Yamaha MD-4 for several years and recently purchased a used Yamaha MD-8. I have been very satisfied with these units but I always seem to have a problem when it comes to mixing. I normally will mix using headphones, but I always seem to end up with either too much of a channel (vocals for instance), or too little of a channel. I have tried mixing while listening to signals through speakers, but seem to have the same problem. I am curious which technique others use. Thanks
