  1. Hmm, now you come to mention it, it hasn't always happened with the same disc, but I think they all come from the same box. That might just be it. I'll have a go with a virgin unsealed dsic from the box and see what gives - apart from my patience. Thanks for the suggestion.
  2. I know, the odd thing is that it's doing it with the Hold switch on, which means that it shouldn't be able to react to any other buttons being pressed. I leave the Hold swich on as a rule because otherwise the Play button can get depressed when I don't want it to, which uses up the battery. When recording on battery I make a rule of using a fully charged battery, so it shouldn't be that the battery's packing up. Maybe a loose connection somewhere? Or could it be that it reacts to the unit being moved at all while it's saving, and that kills the "Stop and save" command? Or maybe I switched off the remote mic (ECM-719) before hitting "Stop and save", would that corrupt the file in any way? Whoops, I replied the the wizard of oz before reading this one. Interesting. So if the power Regulator's mistakenly thinking that the battery's flat, it'll shut off? But on one recent occasion (since I started getting this problem) when I was recording with a flattening battery, the MZ-RH1 reached a point where it saved what it had been able to record and THEN shut down - whereas on other occasions it just shuts down without saving. Some fault in the saving mechanism maybe??? It doesn't happen all the time, just about 60% of the time - too high a failure rate for comfort, which is why I'm back with the MZ-NH900 until I figure this out.
  3. Hmmm, it seems dead easy to confuse the MZ-RH1. I can record with the MZ-NH900 on hold to make sure nothing gets depressed accidentally, I take the Hold off before pressing Stop and the recording gats saved, so I thought I could do the same with the MZ-RH1. I've just tried recording on MZ-RH1 with Hold off, and it stopped recording a good hour before I wanted it to, and saved what it had done. Progress of a sort, but not ideal! I was using a Plug-in Power mic (ECM-719), would that affect things at all? Not a remote but the mic is powered from its own switch.
  4. Thanks for the tip. Does that mean that the Hold button can actually cancel the recording then??
  5. Can anyone help? I press the Record button on my MZ-RH1, I put it on Hold so that nothing can stop the recording accidentally, I leave the MZ-RH1 to its own devices, then when I come to switch it off, it's stopped recording and nothing has been saved. It's not because the battery has packed in, there's plenty of power left. The mic battery is still fresh too. So WHAT'S GONE WRONG? I've lost three recordings recently because of this, and unless I can find out what's causing it, I'm off back to my faithful neglected MZ-NH 900! Any advice welcomed!
