I've got a Sony MZ R700 and a pair of Core Sound Binaural Microphones and I want to start recording live concerts (mostly rock). I've just purchased a Battery Box, so I should receive it soon. Last night I decided to record a concert without the battery box and it sounded terrible (I hope the battery box arrives soon). I just wanted to know what settings, etc. I should use on the MZ R700? Is there anyone out there who has used this model for live recording?

I want to start recording live music but I have no idea what MD and what equipment I need. I'm not real serious about recording so I don't want anything high tech and expensive, I just want something that is simple and gets the job done. I don't care if the recorder picks up background noise from the audience, etc. just as long as I can hear and understand the band when I playback. I know that the cheaper the price the cheaper the quality is going to be, but I don't really want to spend much. Can someone let me know of some decent equipment that does a good job for a good price. Thanks
