I just ordered the MZ-200 myself. This thread helped me make my decision. THANKS A440 for educating me on the various MD's! I am intently watching Guitarfxr's reveiw of the new TASCAM DR-1 and was close to purchasing that one, ( thanks Guitarfxr ). Maybe in the future, but I only have budget for one device. And...I have an old MZ-R37 that has begun to make strange noises so decided to get one of these last models as not to loose my archives and to use for upload to computer files. BEST WISHES

Guitarfxr, Thank you so much for this excellent review and detailed insights! VERY HIGHLY APPRECIATED!!! So much so that this is the first blog I've responded to, although I've reseached many. I was considering the DR-1 due to the warm , non-strident or digital sounding samples I'd heard, but that was before the 1.10 upgrade! You can pass that on to the TASCAM rep! I am a writer/musician who needs to record live performance and home ideas as well as demos on a pro quality computer friendly format. Looks like I may have to wait... Thanks again for such great writings!
