  1. Ahhhh that explains it! Thanks for the response Now all I need to do is buy another cable! Mat
  2. There is a setting somewhere in Sonicstage to do this, cant remember where Im afraid and dont have it on this pc to check. Mat
  3. Thanks Chris. If I choose to play "All songs" as you suggest, any idea what order it plays them in? TIA Mat
  4. The backlight does work on the 40ELK with the A3000, yes
  5. Ref the 40ELK if it helps this is what I have found with the NW-A 3000: - Only two lines of the three line display work - Stop, start, volume, and forward one track and backward one track also work Thats about it. The moving up one level function that worked with my NWHD1 (eg changing from track view to Album view) doesnt work. Essentially you get much as the same functions as the remote without a display, but with the ability to see the track name, or artist name, or album name along with time elapsed, track number etc Does this help? Mat
  6. Hi all, Finally got my NW-A3000 and pretty happy with it as a replacement to my NW-HD1. I have two questions which I am sure you can answer: 1) When it reaches the end of an album it seems to switch off - is there any way to stop this? 2) I have the USB/docking cradle thing but my pc doesnt seem to recongnise it when I connect it - any ideas? Thanks Mat
  7. They have been discontinued, and several people I have discussed this with at Sony have said that they are "now focusing on smaller capacity players". So, I wouldnt hold out for a replacement unless you wish to use their new video player. Its very irritating!
  8. Thanks for the fast reply (and the welcome). Being fundamentally lazy I want a large capacity one so I dont have to keep refreshing the selections on the player - so Im stuck with needing one with at least 18gb capacity. I have read around the web and I think I know the answer to this one but Ill ask anyway - Do any other manufacturers support ATRAC or is there conversion software that I can use to convert from ATRAC to another format? TIA Mat
  9. Hi all, Id much appreciate your advice on this. My NWHD1 has just collapsed and Sony has said that they wont/cant repair it. No big problem I thought as I was prepared to buy the NWA3000, but as you all know that has been discontinued. Im loathe to buy something that will probably cease to be supported soon so Im left with the question of what do I do with all my ATRAC tracks? Are there players out there that have a 20gb capacity (or more) that I can buy to replace the NWHD1 or am I going to be foreced to re-rip everything into another format and buy another brand player? Thanks in advance Mat
