Thanks guys for the feedback. Looks like I won't pursue the Alpine unit, as my intention was just to be able to pug the Hi-MD discs strraight in to the unit and play. I might look at a new head unit with an aux-in and then I can just plug the MD straight in. Cheers, John

Thanks guys for the responses. I'm still a bit confused - am I getting it right t say that the Alpine unit should probably play H-MD discs if they're recorded on SP? Has anybody tried this? Many thanks in advance! Cheers, John

Greetings Minidiscers! Hi Everybody! This is my first post on the minidisc forum. What a great resource it is! (and please forgive me if I've posted this in the wrong place!) I have a MZ-NH1 Hi-MD that I use for recording my singing lessons. I then use Sonic Stage to burn to CD that I then listen to in the car. I've found an Alpine MDM-7741 Car MD deck for a reasonable price. I have a similar Alpine unit to this in my car now (but with the cassette player instead of the minidisc). This is the unit: Alpine Review My question is whether this will play discs recorded by my H-MD unit? Many thanks in advance! John
